1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

If it was so easy to make 2 titles they would just have made another AC. Its a benefit to them to work on limited content of the Blancpain series with the new engine. Allows more focus and new features to be added without needing to deal with 100's of cars each time they make a new feature.

Im fairly certain once ACC is done they will either expand this with some more content or make more of an AC sequel using the new engine and features they will be familiar with by then, adding more content will be a bit easier then at this stage when they are still expanding feature sets and exploring the new engines possibilities.

It's not a pb, External leagues and their own online infraestructure can perfectly integrate mutually, I agree. But on AC, Leagues compensate the absence of a solid online infraestructure.

If you have in the game a official ranking system, you have to control the race, all the data...?
If you have a lot of eternal thing I think it's difficult, maybe I'm wrong, to centralize everything, to controle everything.
Eternal leagues are made by passionates simracer, not active necessarily every day.

    "This thread is useless"
It's just a thread to say maybe be in 4, 5 years Kunos may keep Competizione title for compit (GT3 and other class maybe with DLC), and maybe a another one complementary.. Not necessarily, a AC2 where you have GT3 but also series-produced cars mixe in the same game like a Forza fo example (cf: my first post).
It's just a discussion, some idea, you have the right to be disagree but "useless". It's a goal here to express our thoughts. Maybe it's too soon to talk about this

    Ok, thanks. I will ;)
But, it will be cool to integrate stuff like that by default in the game.

I agree ! Finally, I'm not alone

I'm not an expert, but wouldn't modding make cheating in multiplayer easier? I do have experience as admin in popular, but old FPS game.. approx. 10 cheaters every day, never caught by official (crappy) anticheat. This is in a game,

    - That doesn't have mod support of any kind
    - Has 2 official anticheat systems, other based on statistical analysis of abnormal ingame beahavior (live), other reads RAM for modified code
    - Game that doesn't have any benefit for cheating, it's not eSports. No money at stake, no rank, tournaments or anything useful to be won by cheating. People do it for fun
    - Companies sell and develop these cheats, with official customer supports even. The expensive ones are the ones that go undetected by anticheats. People actually pay to cheat, for fun
    - Since the flimsy official anticheat is ineffective, servers rely mainly on 3rd party unofficial plugins

What is Kunos going do to prevent cheating? I don't know what systems iRacing uses for anticheat (and how much it costs them to uphold), but if a game becomes popular, cheat developers may get interested, starting creating and selling new ones that go undetected. It's like virus makers vs. antivirus companies in FPS games like PUBG, never ending tug of war.

Wouldn't full mod support make this easier for cheaters? Studying how everything works etc

Edit: Apparently iRacing uses Easy Anti-Cheat, some games protected by it do allow modding (Squad at least). So I guess it's not necessarily an issue then...

The most constructive post of my useless thread

So probably not an issue with cheating. thx !
However ,maybe be cheating is not a only think you have to think about with multiplayer and ranking system.. I don't know..

Edit: Also, the pb (a very personnal thought) with mod especially with a offical licenced game, is you have different quality, it's great to fill content, expend content but I prefere when it come by Kunos (quality certified !).

You could offer a full custom game for anyone willing to pay $30. Let them choose any 200 cars, 50 tracks plus up to 10 custom game modes. For the $30 you can hire 10 devs to work on each of these and make a handy profit.

Indeed. When AC started out, i would have never thought that, one day, they'd have 30 (or whatever) people working on their stuff, port AC to consoles (!!), release 10 DLC's, and get the official Blancpain license to do an official game from it (which even features day & night, and wet racing). Stunning. I also saw loads of people moving over from iR, and other sims. One really can only gratulate Kunos to this achievement. Who would have thought so, when Stefano started out with netkar Pro.

And lets forget they are the sim of choice for porsche and were the first to bring porsche back to simracing after the stagnant exclusive licence expired.

And let's not forget that AC Pro is used by professionals in racing teams and the automotive industry and that those cooperations aren't Win-Win PR gimmicks but paid for - by the teams and manufacturers. What other sim available to the gaming market is there with such a record?

AC is a direct derivative of AC Pro with the same physics engine so basically we all drive a professional sim at the price of a video game.

And btw this thread is still useless :p "The future" at this point in time is still ACC so why go beyond, already?

rFactor2 - Quote from Marcel Offermans who should know...

Early 2012 ISI released rFactor 2, an evolution of the original version. It contained a lot of code that had been developed as part of rFactor Pro, a version of the simulation that is sold to professional racing and formula one teams

Not sure how much it is still in use by teams.

I never was under the impression that once ACC is out, AC will get buried by its fans. There is too much content by modders in it which will keep interst in it high, both SP and MP. ACC is what people will go to if they want to get a taste of right those hand-selected details (tracks, cars) that ACC specifically focusses on. ACC is a specialist. AC is the generalist beside it. People will chose ACC when they want to race on tracks that ACC includes, since it will present these tracks better than AC can. If they want to race on a track that ACC does not feature but AC allows to drive on, they will go to AC.

Indeed I expect most AC players to own and use both games, not to migrate from the old to the new one. Its not AC or ACC. Its AC and ACC.

When the new engine gets used to also do a Nordschleife - then I will be ready to bury AC. :p

Me neither. AC is the only sim I can see which is so popular among the pros. The driver acquisition program by Teichmann racing is starting its next round with AC (this time it's about the KTM), Porsche and Ferrari (and other manufacturers) using AC in their showrooms etc.

I hope Kunos sticks with this dual strategy. And IMO they could also use this for PR a lot more.

Agreed, there's just too much good stuff in AC, road cars and the green hell being the obvious ones. I don't see AC going out of fashion until AC2 comes along to replace it.

When it comes to future games I'm not sure they do and I don't mean this as a criticism. I doubt that before AC came out they had ACC planned and so I doubt that before ACC comes out they have planned its successor.

I'd say you could be right about not having ACC planned in advance of AC, although they probably had lose aspirations. I'd guess ACC is the direct result of feedback from AC. We complained a lot about AC not having enough racing features so they've given us a more serious and focused racing title.

They probably do have a long term plan though, it may revolve around the success of ACC at the moment but I'd imagine they had to show some sort of long term plan to investors.

Yeah, I'm sure they have though about the possibilities - either spin-off series or a broader title.

Considering they are making 7 games we maybe can hope for a VLN sim and a new (realistic) PGR.

[This was a joke, in case it isn't obivious]

Anyway I have a little bit of hope that modders find a way to include AC content in ACC, like they managed in PC2 and other games without modsupport. :D
