1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I like the most things in ac, but I dont like the grip of the front tiers on the cars, it only goes straigt forward in the sharper turns whene i dont drift, and just driving arount, and the resonse to steering is terrible!
I play, Richard burns rally. Dirt rally, Dirt 3, Grid Autosport, Automobilista, Need for speed shift, Next car game "Wrechfest" Sebastien loab rally, Wrc 4-6, Flatout Uc.
And have never feelt something near Ac. I only want to use ac to drift, so is it some mod out there that fixes the bad response to steering in turns? I play on pc with Logitech g27.
Ore mod that makes better grip in front tire?
I want to play the game, it is so many drift tracks and cars to download.
    Plz help!

edit: MISSED THE HEADER 'CONSOLE', You will get an update next week so maybe you will have better luck then.

The reason you are going straight is that you are going to fast for the corner. Look at the speed you are doing and you will know that. As for AC only being useful to drift, that is your choice. Many will disagree with you passionately. What track and cars have you experience this 'phenomenon' (Do doo do do doo), please don't reply 'All of them' as that helps as much as your fully encompassing 'I dont like the grip of the front tiers on the cars...'.

P.S. You could always join a Street Fighter or ALOOG server (to name but two well respected servers) and see people racing around tracks with no problems with frontend grip.

    1. If you're willing to reflect on yourself - I sense you're not, but whatever - check your speeds as you enter the turns. I'm 99% sure you're coming in too hot. Find a RL video showing a fast lap of some AC car around an AC track. Try and match that time with similar in-game conditions. Then report back if the front grip is too low.
    2. All the games you mentioned, except for AMS, don't compare well to AC. Some are rally sims/games, others are arcade titles. As for AMS: it doesn't have many street cars, right? AC has mainly street cars so maybe you're comparing apples and oranges.
    3. I don't know any mod that increases front grip...odd thing to ask for.

No need for downtalk.... It is well known that AC does not give the same sense of speed as most other games. So when you start playing AC it's fairly normal to enter corners too fast without realizing it.

Except when the 1st sentence in some ones post includes,...", I dont like the grip of the front tiers on the cars, it only goes straigt forward in the sharper turns whene i dont drift, and just driving arount, and the resonse to steering is terrible!"

Without ANY possibility that it is the driver,...guaranteed to generate some "down talk".

What you explain is understeer. Dont turn your steering wheel to much. Which cars?
    Can you upload a video?

This issue has been brought up many times, and it's always the same answers. "You are driving to fast, idiot" or "You turn the wheel too much, stupid". However, if you can't tell that AC feels too slippery when going slow, you are turning a blind eye. I'm currently working on a mod that has a narrow street tyre, and it's very noticeable that in order to get the balance right at speed, the car will struggle at low speeds. Now, I rarely go slow in a racing sim, so it's not a big deal, but it's still a flaw. The tires seems to behave like they are being put under stress, even if you are well below the limit. At low speed with no load to speak of, the combined slip will still kick in and makes it feel like you are slipping. It may just be an FFB/sound thing, as the car does turn at the speed it's supposed to. But the feeling of massive understeer when going at normal driving speed is definitely real.

Managing front grip-loss becomes easier with a stronger wheel; when that correlates to the tire-noise closely, our judgement is greatly enhanced IMO. I've tested that theory by dropping FFB-strength and it does get harder for me with low force settings. That doesn't mean that we can't adapt with time but, it does support the claim that stronger FFB provides us a greater margin near the threshold of grip.

There are settings in the tyres.ini as well as suspension geometry that helps too. But you would have to go away from the default Kunos values. Which may not be a bad thing for realism anyway ;)

  16. or.. it could be that you know absolutely nothing about car dynamics and have been writing dog**** for the last couple of weeks uninterrupted making your ignorance even more evident with every single post.

but hey.. who am I to talk right?

Hi Stefano. That is not fair. I have only posted ONE thread on here because I had questions about the workings of load sensitivity. I was not rude, and I was not talking **** about your product or you. How is asking questions ignorant? Look, I admit that I am not an engineer, nor have I ever claimed to be. I am sure you have a much better understanding of the mathematical side of this. But assuming I know nothing about car dynamics? Well, that's ignorant. Just Google my name, Stefano. Then send me a private message if you have a problem with me. I am a huge fan of your work, so please don't let me down by proving those who warned me about this wrong. I am not the bad guy here. I am simply a guy with tons of real life and sim racing experience that wants this sim to be even better. Insulting your customers can't possibly be your official strategy? It's up to you where we go from here, but I am honestly very disappointed that the developer of my favourite sim decided that the best way to deal with questions was to sucker punch me on the forums for everyone to see. Please show me that you are a better man than this...

No, Stefano. That is not how I want to play. Not at all. Why are you picking a fight? Are you trying to drive me away from your product? I don't get why you are so mad at me for this. It must wear you out if you go on a bender every time someone points out a handling issue. Every sim has got them. AC is by far one of the most enjoyable ones, but there's still room for improvement, right? There always is. So pointing out something that doesn't feel right is not talking ****. Why would I talk **** about my favourite sim that I spend hours every day playing and modding? That makes no sense.

  20. cool then you know what to do.
Stop making claims that you cannot afford to prove and I will stop pointing out why and how you are not in a position to make any claim about how realistic the stuff we do is or isn't.

I am not saying AC is perfect, so no point even going there. If you have a problem with a AC's realism bring on your data and your observations, show us that you understand what you are trying to criticize and we'll sure listen to you just as we listen to all the people that have proven to be able to provide valid feedback.
As of today, you are not even close to be in that position, so saying "But you would have to go away from the default Kunos values. Which may not be a bad thing for realism anyway ;)" is simply not cool and you'll have to answer for that.. will my challenges drive you out from the forum? I don't give a damn if it does... I respect you as long you respect us.

If that's not good for you... PRC will surely welcome you with open arms and you can be assured nobody will challenge you over there.
