Thoughts on the Huracan Nurburgring lap record?

So somehow a beefed up huracan hit a 6:52 around green hell.

naturally people got a little rustled wondering how on earth they managed such a feat.

I dont gave much experience around the real track so I'm not sure but theres a surprising amount of inconsistencies in the video. There is the other group of people that think its been completely stripped and has full slicks because they didnt hear tyre squeal. What do you guys think?

Seriously now, taking the 918 for a lap around the Nordschleife in AC is proof enough that it takes a bit more than aero-trickery and "lightweight" components (people talk about the 918 as if it's a stone age car in terms of aerodynamics and chassis design, lol).Even the much lighter than real life Gallardo LP570 is more than 23s slower than the 918 on a lap around the ring, so no, in my honest opinion, I don't think that Huracan is even close to 918 performance levels, and neither is the Aventador SV.I'd be surprised if they could keep up with a 488 GTB or a 675 LT.

 

At this point my thought is, tyres were non-standard qualifying compound sh*t, and the video may have been altered somehow. Can't argue about the distance vs speed weirdness on Dottinger Hohe, it's pretty clear something isn't right there.

So yeah, these Nords laps are frankly a joke these days, I'll take laps on Hockenheim Short, Laguna Seca or Willow Springs way before. Not that it matters much mind you, these are all street cars and what matters at the end of the day is how nice they drive, not what laptimes they get. If someone wants to use them for competition and make them proper on track tuning is there for that.
