Tips for the "dark side" special event ?

Hi guys,
I'm starting to do the special events and I started by the "Dark Side" event (Exige Scura @Imola) and I'm struggling to keep this car on the road.
On almost every corner I find myself spinning right after braking : as soon as I relese the brake pedal, the rear of the car wants to go to the front. I tried to enter the corner slower but with no success.

Do you guys have any tips or advises for this car/track ? Some special lines to take or some good settings for the car ? I already lowered the tyre pressure and increased the negative camber but the car remains quite unstable.
I'm using ABS and traction control (struggling with, I can't imagine without) and no stability control.

 

It could be you just need to get on the power sooner. Send the weight to the back wheels.

 

i think u downshift too soon and cos of that rear end go crazy! video could help with "tips"

 

Try checking the auto clutch box for a short test and see if it still throws it away. Lotuses are finnicky with downshifts like that when braking into corners.

 

I tend to downshift a bit early, might cause this issue.

Do you have any suggestions for the setup of the car ? Any parameter who could bring good stability to the car ?

 

From what I've been reading around here lately you're not going to fix the issue with a setup, it's a driving style issue. If you say you might be downshifting a bit early that would be the first thing to look at.

 

I just earned silver while using the default setup and am pretty sure I can get gold with a bit more practice. Car is actually very nice, but the steering is a bit too light for my taste.

 

Haven't driven the car for a while, but you have to understand the car's personality. If it tends to rotate too much when you lift the throttle while cornering maybe you have to apply some throttle to balance it, or change the way you brake. You can use the car's personality to your advantage in other situations to quickly make the car change direction.

 

So I just made some laps focusing on your advice and I get a much better feeling of the car. Downshifting later, braking sooner and having a bit of throttle entering the corner is the key for stability.
Once you get a bit of understanding on the balance of the car it feels so much better. Still no medal, I tend top attract gravel and grass a lot.

EDIT : Just got the gold medal !! I had to drive VERY slowly on first and second lap, safe on third and fourth was full speed (I think I could push harder, but that was risky and I didn't want to mess things up, as the 2 first laps were so boring). Damn that feels so rewarding, thanks for your help
