To Tyre Blanket Or Not To Tyre Blanket, That Is The Question.

Hello good old sim- racers!

I am starting an AC career and I thought to ask if someone can recommend me whether I should use tire blanket or not in each series (N, I, T, IT, H, GT, F1).

My only one measure is simulation, I mean whether they or not use the tire blankets in each of those series.

Hint, when I used to drive F1 we used to use them, in the good old days.

I do not know if I am still going to get an answer anyway.

 

AC is not dead and ACC is not available at the moment. why to hesitate asking then?..

 

I googled first use of tyre blankets to get an answer as to when they were first used IIRC it was in the 70's. For MP I set most race car or track prepped car combo's to TB on, the earliest cars I use them on are the 70's F1. For MP you also have to consider ease of use for slower players. Have you tried googling for the specific series you want to use?

 

I thought there are no real life series like the ones here, except for GT's and F1.

 

Well, you could look up online (sporting regulations) if the actual series the cars race/raced in uses/used tyre blankets or not.

 

Maybe you misunderstood me, I wasn't so concerned about accuracy as OP, for our (public) server I just use it on newer race cars. I really wouldn't want TB on for something like GT40's at Silverstone 67 but for more modern stuff that's running semi or fully slick tyres I turn TB on. The OP needs to search for whatever series he is running if he wants to use the same as IRL.
