The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. 2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Too strong braking rumble effect on steering wheel

When I brake hard or lock brakes, my steering wheel Fanatec GT3 RS v2 is shaking too much. It's very noticable when going to full stop. The wheel is literaly trying to explode in my hands and jump from table.

It would be nice to have an option to disable this effect or some kind of adjustment. I use Fanaleds which allows for brake pedal rumble so I don't need additional effect on steering wheel anyway.

There was a Fanatec widget on TP which I didn't use because of that.

I have it on "0" all the time.

And I think SHO works only when your pedals are attached via PS/2 cable.

My pedal is connected by usb and works for me.
Maybe try updating the drivers and fanaleds?

Have you tried disabling Fanaleds to see if the problem persists.
Or, can you not adjust that in rumble in Fanaleds.

Some of us do need this effect on the steering wheel 'cos like previous poster(TheDying) said, we don't feel it enough.

Seems to me this could be a 3rd party(Fanaleds) SW problem and not AC's.:)

Yes, I tried it without Fanaleds and it has nothing to do with it.

I still use the stock 681 fw on wheel and I think the old 115 driver. I've already tried different new fw/driver combos, but they are either bad FFB-wise (dead center) or there is the same issue - random vibration after riding over kerbs in certain sims, so I always had to revert back. Sadly, the 681/115 is the best combo so far. Last time I tried updating when TP came out and had to revert it back, again.

As I said, this was a similar problem for me when I tried to use that Fanatec widget in TP, so I was driving without it and all was good. Now it looks like it is enabled and we can't do anything about it.

Looks like road cars don't have this effect as strong as race cars. I've just tried Z4.

OK. I decided to update FW and drivers and almost bricked wheel. There is no difference in rumbling and SHO doesn't affect it.

Now I'm back with old fw/sw and FFB feels much better, not as mushy as the new. The only problem I have with this combo is that when I pause gameplay my wheel pulls hard to the left. Doesn't do it with newer fw/sw.

We definitely need some kind of adjustment that would allow us to set FFB differently for steering weight and other rumbling effects.

I haven't tried messing with FFB since the update but I did notice that even when stationary and you turn the wheel and apply brakes the wheel goes stiffer.

I don't really see why that should happen, it did the same thing in pCars some time back, I don't know if it still does.

Coudln't drive today for long as I wasn't happy with all those rumbling. My wheel is only made of plastic so I didn't want to damage it. Seriously, it was THAT strong.

I also had to disable all those newly added effects as it made it even worse. When I brake, drive over bumpy part of the road or off road it's too much. Even when sitting in pits. I like the FFB strength though and it doesn't clip. We need more FFB setup sliders.

Please, allow us to tweak/disable those effects. Driving without fanatec app in TP was much better.

I totally agree with the idea of more ffb sliders!
I have the same problem with my old Logitech Driving Force: when I break hard the wheel vibrates/rumbles extremely hard and in a very unrealistic way. It seems that the only slider which influences this braking-rumble is the Gain-slider. With gain higher than 60 and all other sliders to zero the rumble is too strong but with lower gain the whole ff is too weak.
I would like to feel strong "pulling" of the wheel in corners (and losing the strong pulling when the back of the car breaks out) but almost no (or weak) "rumble" from breaking. The only realistic usage of "rumble" is when you drive with the wheels on/over curbs in my opinion!
Is there a good setting for the old Logitech Driving Force?
And what does the Damper setting mean?

I think rumble should have higher frequencies...
the highest a wheel can bear and make clear to the driver.
Something similar to what I remember from ISI formula 1 games back some years ago... but related to engine rpm there insted...

but I think in AC vibration is linked to speed now somehow (the higher the speed the higher the frequency and the lower the amplitude... and mabye this is why I feel the effect only at low speed... only starting from grid or box in fact... or in really slow corners)

    snip...
I remember in GTR2 the FFB had many parameters in the *.plr file.
ie. one rumble per wheel revolution - sine, sawtooth etc.

You never know... @some point, Kunos might give us the ability to change a lot of the FFB/wheel settings in AC, possibly through some type of .ini file. :)
    Here's hoping.
