Update 0.6 discussion

Discussion in 'ACC General Discussions' started by Darcy Callai Junior, Feb 3, 2019.

  1. 10 days to release version 0.6. From what has been commented, we will have the first version totally based on the rewritten code. A 0.5.2 was still a merged old and new.

My big question is whether we'll finally have a stable multiplayer and sync information. Besides, of course, we have the minimum information such as race time, ambient and track temperatures, weather, etc.

    What are your expectations?

New car and track will be good . I've really enjoyed the drip-feed that EA has given us here as I've put time into getting to know cars I wouldn't ordinarily be drawn to.
Other than that I'm trying not to expect too much due to the re-write.
I'm intrigued by 'live special events' so I do hope that this is delivered so I can see what is all about. Fingers crossed!

Has it been confirmed that this release will be all new code? It does make sense as you would hope it would all get tested in EA before release and this may be the last chance...

I'm not going to hype myself up by having unrealistic expectations like last time, but since you asked: basic multiplayer, bug, dsync and crash fixes.

Everything else that comes our way is just a plus, but I won't be fully satisfied before I can sit down in all of my favorite German machines.

However I do hope they will take another look at the anti-aliasing, rotating shadows, blurry textures, aggressive lods and the rear-view mirrors in particular.

New car, and new track,,irrelevant hotfixes, and some improvement in Mp..(I say “some” because
New “code” must be tested before release 1.0.).but I expect initially another mess..crashes,servers,no clue what position you are, during race Or qualify,etc..,,(initially),,it would be dramatic if MP continues the same way as it is now for very long.
The rest of Vr,triple, performance, etc completely parked and digged for much later 2019.
Expectations were high in 0.5 and. See what happened..
0.6 could be in the same trend. But I do not expect any AA,blurry textures improvement at all.
the game Graphically is what it is..like or. Not.

Clarification: No, 0.5 had none of the new parts.

I see sensible answers here, in a nutshell the first goal is to get the very same functionality again; the major difference is that it will be easier to go on from there.
You wil find a few details being different though, and some of those could be seen as improvement.
  14. We do not even need new features right now, if what we already have, like MP, works properly.

Given the massive multiplayer rewrite, may we expect some incremental releases (0.6.1-2-3...) to make use of players feedback and crash reports or you'll stick to the monthly plan as so far?

Any improvements over what we have would be nice but don't expect anything until full release ,having said that I was expecting Honda but Nissan will do .

That's something to decide in a quite agile way, based on the situation. I'd prefer sticking with the plan because that means we a) delivered a good system and b) can totally switch the focus on 1.0.
But that doesn't mean it's impossible to see updates 6.x.
