1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Warm up lap for multiplayer races

Hi kunos, we'd like to see a warm up lap for multiplayer races (and why not also for single player) in Assetto Corsa. In my opinion this thing is very important in a simulator, and in other game like rfactor it was implemented by many years.
I think that it isn't difficult to do this, because the only thing needed is the controll of traffic light (=semaforo) and lap counter with an admin tool in the server (that i hope it will include in future update)., What do you think?

Usain, thanks for your multiple messages but please, don't use "workaround" prefixes. Moreover, there's a suggestion forum here (and I'm moving this thread there). Last but not least, please use the search function, maybe same discussion is already here in the forum. Thanks

maybe in real life is important? but here the game is designed with practice/quali/race sessions one after the other, there's just a short waiting time between sessions. In real life races there's 1 day or a couple of hours between qualification and race. But in the game there's no need for warm up since you just ended the qualification round..

Maybe what we'd "need" is a lap after finishing the race.. not just close the sessions after you cross the line :)

I disagree because this is a simulator, and i think that the possibility to do something like in real is very important for a game of this type. Maybe in public races the warm up lap is impossible but in championship and races organized by communities it is possibile to do if the admin can controll the traffic light, and with replay you can see false starts. Like this it will be more realistic and immersive.
Other games like rfactor, iracing, project cars and go on have this feature, and i don't understand why it will not be also in Assetto Corsa in future. In my opinion Assetto Corsa is a game made for organised events and championships, and not for public races in free time.
I agree with your idea of the return to box lap after the end of a race, like real.

Yes from that explained perspective makes sense to have a warm up lap, and also the free lap at the end of the race :) At least would give more time for people to finish.
The type of warm up round you suggest is like a lap done in formation? At first I thought it would be more like a practice(warm up) lap. But you mean a formation lap all in their places and then stop back on the grid each on their positions. This would work great for closed races, though in public multiplayer people would need a lot more education on the matter :)

Yes a formation lap, a warm up lap isn't the same thing?

warm up lap is useless tbh
flying start is something other wich is great thing for online races.

Why not have both a warm up lap and a rolling start? I don't actually know of any sportscar series which actually does standing starts.

In my opinion a formation lap is usefull because right now tyres are cold at the start. With a formation lap drivers could heat tyre and revise the track, and this is a good thing to have less crash at first corners; players can also see if they have problem, for example with their pheriferal, that would make them stand still and have the time to solve them (or to drop out) and start from the box, instead of create danger situation at start. With this we can also have false start (controllable by replay). The including of a formation lap make a race in Assetto Corsa more realistic, and so more fun. There is a reason if in real races (like F1) there is the formation lap...
It is sure that something like this work good only in close and organized races, but i think that Assetto Corsa isn't a game for public races and it never will.
