I have noticed that whenever @SimGuy_1 talks about giving more power to the cars (which happens almost every day), you guys always react negatively, as if it was weird to wish for more HP. Well... time is proving him right: say good bye to the old DTM, say hello to "Class One". Looks like the trend now is to give more power to the cars. Really hope that GT3 takes notes of this.

Class One Joint Super GT/ DTM Events Plan Crystalises
Autosport Japan unpicks proposal

Autosport Japan is reporting that the planned joint Super GT/ DTM race in Japan could well be held at Fuji Speedway on November 23-24.

The plan involves 14 DTM cars, to be matched against all 15 GT500 machines in a race format that would mirror DTM’s 2-race sprint format and with all cars running with a spec tyre.

In addition, there are plans for a car apiece from each Super GT Manufacturer to attend the DTM finale at Hockenheim in lieu of a hoped-for joint race in Europe that appears to have fallen victim to calendar congestion.


The 2019 plans follow on from joint demonstrations of the Series’ cars at Motegi and Hockenheim in 2017 (above and top) as both Series adopt common base technical regulations.

 

GT3 won't follow this as it isn't what GT3 is about. GT3 is for a gentleman driver. These DTM and SuperGT cars are often driven by the top drivers in GT, the best that each manufacturer believes they have.

Also, GT2 cars that are coming out next year and making a preview at Spa have around 700hp, and the new hypercar class is meant to have around 750hp.

 

Dude... DTM and GT500 are both silhouette classes, meaning they have bespoke chassis with only an aero body resembling the production cars.
GT3 are the production cars, but converted to race cars which is actually the other way around to this 'Class One'.
The two have nothing to do with each other. Nothing.

Time isn't proving him right. This class one initiative has been on the negotiation table for about a decade, and now finally they are doing two demo races in the near future. Big whoop.

 

yeah we all look forward to more power, but when it comes to replicate a particular racing series... which is the goal of this ACC.
However let me tell you I choose close racing over power anyday, if ACC would have become a F1 series, I wouldn´t have bought it. BTCC series, on the other hand... I´m in !!!
