1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

We need your opinion! JOYPAD SUPPORT

That's not the question. Sure a wheel and pedals is way cooler, but there are situations, where you can't use them. For example ...
    a) You can't afford it.
    b) You don't have enough space for it.
    c) You want to "casually" play in your sofa.
Also Assetto Corsa might be a full blown sim, but that does not mean it doesn't appeal to casual gamers. If Kunos can get the gamepad-feel "right", they get access to a bigger market, sell more copies, and in the end will be able to make an even better game/sim.

Hmmm ... we can't edit our posts after some minutes.
So I'll quote myself and mark the changes and additions:

I have a really old and decrepit gamepad, even .45 doesnt get rid of the play in the analog stick, even more deadzone would help me. IMHO one of the biggest possible improvements to the pad gameplay would be the ability to set different steering speeds for turning in, returning to center, countersteering, etc. I noticed that there is already some similar options for keyboard users.

    Other Notes:
I also use the mouse steering option sometimes, it is much easier to control steering but the on/off throttle and brake control can be an issue. Also it would be nice to be able to bind things to the mousewheel up/down. I also have a G27 which works flawlessly with AC, but is a bit of a faff to get out and set up which is why I find myself using the mouse or 360 pad sometimes.

I cannot bind the accelerator to R1 and the Breaks to L1 because they are simply buttons and not triggers, this is how I use my controller and what I am use to.
The only other option is using the right analogue stick to influence the throttle and breaks, GT style, but I really can't stand that.

Is there a way that I can bind my accelerator and breaks to these buttons? Currently I can't really enjoy the game.

    6. IMPORTANT:
I would like to see the ability to map the clutch to a trigger, joystick, or button (LB, LT, RT, Right Stick)
The steering filter seems a bit sensitive, every .01 makes quite the significant difference and was therefore a bit of a pain to lock down to personal preference

Some slightly more distinguished rumble input would be nice too, as it is it's a smidge difficult to distinguish between loss of grip or bumpy road
Full controller support would be nice, being able to navigate the entire game via controller
being able to map head movement to a joystick or trigger would be great too i.e. look left, right, back, with the right stick

    I've forgotten:
6.g. When using xinput controller with "wheel custom" profile the game currently disables rumble effects.
6.h. Add the possibility of using 2 different buttons for a single command. Useful for shifting in certain situations.
(it looks like the idea of some users here for addition of full customization for xinput devices assignments is the best way to go).

Give players more control over steering speed. Biggest problem so far has been that initial input is equally as quick as the snap back to center. So, if I configure enough filter so that I can make smooth inputs on the gamepad, the wheel is too slow to return to center, which results in midcorner steering corrections not happening at the right time, as you need to wait what feels like a long time for steering to be brought back to neutral.

Since the gamepad gives you a full range of lock within such a small range of motion, we need initial steering inputs to be smoothed significantly so we don't shoot into the weeds at every corner, but midcorner countersteer still needs to be as responsive as possible. I consider Forza 4 to be the benchmark for X360 controller implementation and am going back and forth trying to get AC to feel similar, but since F4 seems to have very intelligent speed sensitivity and knows when you're applying corrective lock rather than just turning in, I've gotten stuck on this. I end up changing speed sensitivity per car and track, and am still trying to find comfortable settings for filter and speed. Probably end up with my Driving Force GT on a Playseat, but I'd love if this felt as natural as F4 on the couch with a gamepad.

Perceptually, setting the 'virtual steering wheel rotation limit" down to about 100 degrees helped significantly since I like the in-car view but the amount of movement for small adjustments was disconcerting.

    6. IMPORTANT:

Let me preface this by saying that I'm really impressed with the rumble effects and the overall controllability of the cars when using a gamepad, even after coming from a G27 (it broke). However, the speed sensitive steering makes it almost impossible to catch slides unless turned way down to my setting of 0.07 or lower (it seems to prevent the wheel from going full lock when the car is moving faster than like 20-30 mph otherwise). On the drift cars while this will allow you to catch the slide, your ability to go in a straight line is compromised. Also, small descriptors could be helpful as I'm currently not very clear on how Gamma and Filter change the feel of the controls.

Keep up the great work y'all, I'm blown away by this product already and it isn't even feature complete!

    6. IMPORTANT:
Here you can share your suggestions to improve the gamepad support:
6.a. The steering and acceleration must be more suited for use with a controller as if you were playing fm4 or gt6
6.b. The buttons on the controller should be more configurable in order to avoid having to use the keyboard and mouse
6.c. Assists driving should allow a greater playability, such as traction control that with most of the cars does not help much
6.d. Enhance playability with controllers make Assetto Corsa a viable alternative to driving simulators for pc

I think the problem is related to the modulation of the accelerator...as we use a trigger not a pedal.
Driving McLaren MP12C GT3, traction control can be set (by pressing CTRL + T) in the game, up to 12, which makes the car stable even giving full throttle cornering.
The trigger is too small to be able to simulate the modulation of a real accelerator.
In fact, if I want to drive the Ferrari F40, the traction control can be set to maximum 1, ok ok we are talking about, however, a very old car which at the time did not have electronics such as car today but unfortunately the same problem occurs if I want to drive Ferrari 599XX evo has the traction control can be set up to 9
