1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

So I bought a laptop! In the end I couldn't justify spending over a grand for a 1060 GPU. so I went with an MSI gl73 i7-8750, with a 1050Ti graphics card. The game plays great. Although I'm not happy with the FFB - the wheel feels light and I don't seem to be getting a lot of feedback. I'll search the forum for settings.

How do I take a screenshot? I've tried F8. It takes a screenshot but doesn't include the session info.

F12 should do it. Have you installed and setup the relevant PC software for your wheel? I'd recommend setting the gain to 100 in your wheel software and in AC and then adjust the FFB of each car up or down (probably down) using +- for each different car whilst on track. If you havent already... get on RD and download some mods! Get all of LilSki and Fat-Alfie's tracks for a start :D or just sort by rating and DL most of the first page!

Over a grand for a laptop with a 1060 sounds like a LOT! You could build a PC with a 1070 and a pretty modern i5 for less than that I imagine.

    F12. Thanks, Andy.

I'll try increasing the gain to 100 in the wheel software, currently it's set to 75.

    Any suggestions for car mods?

I priced up parts, an i5 + a 1060 card + everything else needed came to about a grand. I could have probably found savings by shopping around, but I needed a laptop (Netflix etc.) ASAP, I was going out of my mind trying to watch things on a 5 year old 8 inch tablet. I would've preferred a PC though.

I don't really enjoy high end modern race cars so no idea what mods are good for those. If you like older race cars the ones that Giuseppe Abagnale and Aphidgod have made physics for are pretty good fun IMO. The Lola T70 and Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ are probably my favourites overall... grab the Lola for the WHC connection, pctm and I did the skins for that one :D I also recommend downloading LA Canyons and going for a cruise in the NFS car pack cars.

fun car just because it so crazy!

I had a bunch of troubles this week trying to fix my computer so I didn't get very much time to compete. I unplugged the dvi cable from the back of my monitor and it screwed up a setting somehow. I ended up having to reinstall oculus and wasting a bunch of time on google. Good thing is, I finally got it all working properly again!

I really enjoyed this one although I don't like too much the fantasy tracks. Very good combination.

If you're still scratching your heads over next weeks challenge a cursory glance at the track list suggests Brands Indy, Monza Junior & Vallelunga Club haven't been used in quite a while.

I'll check them out. The Alfa looks amazing. I've DL the Lancia Fulvia, but haven't had time to drive it yet. Just taken the Lotus 49 for a spin round (literally!) the Feldbergring. Man, that circuit is the Nordschleife's insane brother. Great fun. I've also downloaded the Grand Prix Legends pack 2.0, which came out a few days ago. Again, not had time to test it yet.

I really like the new version of the GPL pack, the earlier version wasn't good.
You have to download the Honda NSX too, it's one of my favourite, excellent physics.
What cars/tracks do you prefer? (I totally agree with Andy's recommendations BTW.)

  12. Is Hugo back? I would propose the McLaren F1 GTR for WHC105. It was last seen at WHC60. The track would be Laguna Seca, which admittedly we have had recently (WHC94) but it is a great circuit.
The McLaren F1 GTR is an enthralling drive around here, is it still my shout?

I used to prefer modern race cars because they are easier to drive! But I've started to really enjoy classic cars. As for tracks, I like something with character rather than modern F1 tracks. The Lotus 49 at Feldbergring was a real blast. I'm looking forward to driving the GPL cars. Following Andy's suggestion, I downloaded LA Canyons. I like the idea of a leisurely drive through South California. The mustang pack seems like a good fit.

F40 S3 is a pretty similar car to the F1 GTR and has never been used AFAIK ;D It doesn't have the downforce of the McLaren so is slower round most tracks but a similar vibe, 90's slicks and crazy power.
