1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Welcome to the thread for Weekly Hotlap #20 - The Thoroughbred

    The Challenge.
    Car: Ferrari 488 GT3 < Red Pack DLC
    Track: Barcelona - Moto

    The Ferrari 488GT3, the latest greatest factory built GT race car, not to mention the popular choice when asked what GT3 to use for this week. The car is fully adjustable, enough settings to play with to keep most people occupied for months let alone a week! Electronics wise you have multiway ABS and TCS settings to play with.

    With GT3 we get some updated tyres to explore, still three compounds, soft, medium and hard, go easy on the softs, they overheat quickly and the grip levels plummet, somewhere around 26 psi hot, will be a good place to start...

    Barcelona Moto, unfortunately the lap time difference between the GP and Moto layouts, is too small to be seen, thus the quicker of the two needs to be used as the session screen doesn't tell us where we are! The track in Moto format is very fast and flowing, with some very long corners that will work the tyres hard, curbs are slippery, attack them with caution!

    Stability:Free
    Penalties: On <--- Only applicable to Practice mode.

    Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

    How to take part!
    To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap / Practice choose the Ferrari 488 GT3 and head to Barcelona - Moto. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

    You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

    To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.


    Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

    You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

    Repeating the track from #10 already? My favourite, the Short Black Cat hasn't been used. It's perfect for the GT3 class, with a bit of a Bathurst feel. Just my opinion, but would be good to use all the tracks. Completely different to the other Black Cat layouts with better elevations.

    Has a quick practice with overheating softs then cool mediums...low 1:46 (no pic so this is not an official entry!) with not much time difference between the two....lots of set up work needed

    My prediction for the winning time...1:42:8

    I actually screwed up here, I thought the track was earlier in the list for some reason and neglected to check.

    @Kembro Black Cat had some problems with track limits and wall riding, if they get fixed it can be looked at again...

    Those midengine GT3 cars got really beasty with the latest tyre models. Were they always like that? Don't know, but i'm really having a lot of trouble with tyre temperature and all kinds of oversteer here. Need to find a better setup. But here is my first laptime.

    Not done much in GT3 TBH, I could spend months in one car trying to understand the ins and outs of what each setting does!

    I used to be able to chuck a set of softs on a GT3 car and run plenty of laps, now I can't, overheating happens quickly and with overheating comes a severe lack of grip. Ambient / track temperature maybe much more relevent when you choose compound now! It used to be softs would be the only choice.

    I need to run the combo in colder conditions on softs to see if that theory holds up mind ;)

    I ran the testing laps on mediums, and didn't monitor temps :eek:

    My bad double post, but it won't let me edit and quote on the phone and I missed this!

    It is almost the old F1 circuit, the chicane on the back straight isn't in use. It would be nice to see a full classic version of the track with the chicane included, it seems to be there in the game, but no idea if it has actually scanned...
