And now for something completely different

A little nervous about this one, but I think we should explore other things from high power sports cars from time to time! This is a 235bhp hot hatch, that means on power understeer, you are only going to get rotation at corner entry and then it is going to be tough! You get the usual road car set up options Camber, toe and of course tyre pressure, being creative here could help you get that entry rotation.

Talking tyres something new for the weekly here in plain old basic street rubber, no idea on where we should be with pressures!?

Mugello fast flowing and well suited to an overpowered front wheel drive car as you are in the taller gears so wheelspin is limited, the chicanes are tough, getting the best entry and exit to the second corner (in the chicane) is key. It might be slower car but precision with the controls is still required.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap / Practice choose the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV and head to Mugello. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.


Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

Nice choice. I actually like the fact that the weekly challenge utilized all cars, rather than just the GT class or hypercars.
I've been working long days, so not sure how much time I'm gonna have to try and break this car.

With a lot of enthusiasm I started this new challenge. After a couple of trial and error laps I thought 2:27 was a decent time. Until this screenshots above me put me with both feet back on the ground... In no hundred years a <2:22 is possible (for me). Do we expect a lot of difference between the PC and console times? So eagerly awaiting the times of e.g. Sven and HavanaBob. Good luck. And please no 2:22 for you otherwise I have to blame this driver

 

I think the tyre model between platforms is different this time around, what that means is something we will find out during the course of the week.

I try cars with default settings so I really have no idea where we will end up laptimes wise

 

I'm pretty sure it exists some difference between PC and Consol times. Can't believe this time of Andy Riches. Wow...this is hella fast

5L fuel, TC off - abs 1
T300, T3PA, TH8A manual shifter

 

Maybe the versions are quite different, as GT said, we will find out over the week. A good place to start with this car IMO: Keep it tidy and smooth, if you let off the throttle too abruptly the back can break loose and you lose time, use the throttle too aggressively and you will understeer wide and lose time. The brakes are pretty good, brake as late as you can but make sure you can get the car to the apex. No wheel spinning,tyres sliding or abrupt lifting of the throttle just nice and smooth using the throttle to balance the car.

I'm confident I can improve my time here, I was messy in some corners (I broke the golden rule, don't run wide!) but here is my initial lap incase it helps.

Pressures 32 33 front, 37 38 rear. Max camber all around, else default.

 

Definitely the slowest car I've ever attempted to drive and also the hardest one to control.
You'd think being so slow it would be really easy but it's the opposite. I'll be lucky to get under 3mins with it.
