Generic Weekly Hotlap #25 - Turbo Era

Time is up, back to the pits!

Thanks all for taking part, I hope everyone enjoyed the challenge of an old F1 car at Spa! Results shortly.....

 

And that's exactly my problem. My steering is so soft and spongy that the car is not instantly reacting to input so I have to sling it around. Going into La Source instead of turning smoothly like you and other onboards do, I have to try and quickly spin the wheel to the right and make the car slide around that wall, then try to catch that, and still try to have some power built up for the run down Eau Rouge. Into Pouhon I have to start turning left much further back than you do, the car still wants to go right so I have to scrub so much speed off of it to negotiate the second half of Pouhon and on exit I'm still turning left a bit even after exiting the turn to try and hold the line then have to try and get back on the left side of the track to turn right into that next turn. It's just a massive aggravating headache that gets me so angry.

 

Well a proper challenge that really captured a lot of peoples imagination I think We end up with 42 drivers setting a time over the week, thanks everyone for getting involved and running some laps with this monster!

Congratulations to eclipsee for taking the win, OriginalR6kid and HavanaBOB complete the podium spots, these guys had a pretty epic battle along the way! Brilliant stuff chaps!

Congratulations to everyone,just completing a lap in this beast was a result! Hats off to @eclipsee and @HavanaB0B ..great laps fella's, thought i had this one in the bag at the start of the week seeing as i had previously spent time in this car at this track but you 2 aliens proved me wrong!

Porsche RSR 3.0 would be cool. Track vote as always is still for the Short Black Cat even with the chance of fence riders, don't think it will be quicker anyway. Favorite track terrain and cambers until we get Bathurst.

 

Well done all, I didn't come last this week which was a bonus. Really enjoyed the week too.

What a cracking combo. I'm happy enough to finish mid table, seriously fast guys out there as usual. Congrats to the winners, the times were ridiculous. Thanks to Graveltrap as always, great job.

I had my doubts on how this would end up with those XB1 sharks so close , I had to powershift gears and throw away 9 kgs of fuel, so finally I ran with only one litre.

Can we switch off the mechanical damage and still be within the rules? because this would have been very handy with this car, in every try I only could do one and a half laps before the engine blew up.

I don't see why it would be breaking the rules. It is just a game after all.

 

I suppose it's allowed but I just ask because I could find info about tire wear and fuel consumption in other threads of the Weekly Hotlap, but nothing about engine damage, I didn't read all threads though.
IMO, it would be nice to state it clear in the header of the rules.

 

I can add it to the list in future challenges, if it is not on the list just take it that it is a free setting.

I really have no idea how damage is working in the game, I do wonder how much of any power was lost over the lap running at maximum boost?!

On console it is not possible to go below 5 litres of fuel...

 

Exactly, damage should not be an issue, fuel consumption is, as on console you have a 5 litres minimum.
I thought it was the same on PC to be honest, thanks Eclipsee for pointing that out.

There is little point an adding *another* rule that can't be enforced.... If anything should be changed it should be the stuff that is forced, but can't actually be checked!

I did better I took one second off my time sunday evening, couldn't update due to internet lost signal until now
I'm upset about it.. I was on the road to go for 1.51 but lost time to try to upload my last one....

Mine does that from time to time, I find a hard reset of the Xbox and unplugging of the wheel (both power and usb) until the system is back up and running fixes it.

 

I would have posted this yesterday of course, a little reminder for this combo
