1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    ---
I did this video nearly a year ago.

Showing different software but with the same car and circuit. AC vs GTSport vs PCars.

This is the description I put on at the time. I think it still holds true
    ----
"All played with the T150 wheel.

GTS is a different game played this way. It's actually very good fun. The trouble is that GTS is all about online. I'm simply too slow to play this way in multiplayer.

PC is very enjoyable with the wheel. So much content to enjoy.

The handling has this trait where a dab of brake when understeering will make the front end bite and bring you back into line. I'm not sure how realistic that is. GTS has it as well but not so pronounced.

It doesn't happen in AC, at least not for me. I use a lot of throttle steer, aiming the car with the wheel and adjusting line with my right foot. It's the best way for me but I know faster drivers on the A.C. forum who use a lot more steering input. I have my limits.

    Which is best?

    It depends. :)

Online GTS all the way. It also looks good. You're getting two separate games for the price of one. Play in third person and you have an arcade racer with the best multiplayer racing on a ps4 (RIP MotoGP). Put it in cockpit mode and it's totally different but still good to play. The fantasy tracks are actually ok as well. I like the Maggione track a lot.

Content and ability to tailor the game to how you want it: Project Cars. It's much more fun than I ever gave it credit for. I let it gather dust and only recently revisited it. Racing a Ginetta around Oulton and Cadwell Park is fantastic. I like the Rouen circuit in the Lotus 49's as well. That requires the most intense concentration outside of the IOMTT game. PC2 is supposed to be better. Plus it has the Masta. I should be able to get a cheap copy by now. :)

Driving: Assetto Corsa. Online is poor. (mostly due to crap players but the systems are cumbersome) Content is limited with a fairly small track roster. AI is ok though so offline races can be fun. Opportunity to tune the car is endless. There's no tutorial to tuning; you do your research and you test it out. Don't want to spend the time? Go away. The software is not interested in leading you to enjoying it. You have to work it out for yourself. The physics accommodate any style of driving. As a game it's not very good. As a simulator it's the best of the three by a long way.

There's no law saying you can't enjoy them all. The fans on the various forums wouldn't agree with that.

They might want to grow up a little."

Im (very) late to the party but still managed to get there ;)

150 challenges (and the 151 is already live!)...wow this is amazing. But i'm sure we will all meet again in the 200th :)

By the way,i had a video planned for the Concour d'Elegance. It was inspired by @moodyryder video with all of the cars we used during the time he run the WHL, but my video has a mix of vintage/modern elegance: the 16 cars from both groups that i think are the best looking in a 2 lap race around Zandvoort. I think you all know what car i'm driving :p . Since i play in PS4 with no acess to mods (my greatest pain in my sim life) this is the best i can do for show off. Not really competing i guess, since i have a bunch of cars. But if it is really to enter the challenge, then please consider the GT40 :p

    Here it is:

Oh by the way, my vote for the Concur goes to the Voisin C6. I have been taking an interest in pre war cars (well this one is more of a post war car...Post WW1 car!), so that thing really hit my liking spots :)

@Totall Wrytoff i took a good look at your Shelby, what a car, i always loved it! I'm hoping to see one in the big screen in a couple of weeks, when the movie Ford v Ferrari is out.Unfortunately i havent seen one in real life

I love this car and this track is basically a drift track so I concluded that it would be quite elegant to smoke the tires off lol.

Also, my vote is for @Totall Wrytoff for using probably one of the best combos in ac - Cobra at Zandvoort is awesome, plus a fantastic overtake = Concours D'Elegance.

    That’s it for WHC150!
    Phew!
What a brilliant number of entries – 11 pages of content, all of it, driving delight!
This post is a bit rushed and other excuses as described below, aplogies for typos and inakuracys. and IT probs...

    And…. here are the results!
Champagne ready? Personally, I have an open bottle, in the freestanding ice cooler, just to side of the table here… Cheers! (Finished before I managed to post.)

First up a review of the entries for the Concours d’Elegance and a change of plan, due to some late entries.
Please can you nominate your favourite (apart from Lewis, Moody and Pretend racer who’ve already chosen,) having reviewed all entries in a post in the WHC151 thread. We will pick the winner next week.
Here is a list of the entries - it is a delightful, thought provoking, interesting, amusing collection, a huge thanks to all of you for entering – great contributions for us all to enjoy.
Please nominate your favourite next week.

Entries to the WHC 150 Concours d'Elegance

    PAGE ONE
..Mike Reynolds - The menacing RSR GT mod GT-N Ferruccio 36 V8 (with Heusinkveld Sequential Shifter) hanging it out in the dark at Road Atlanta
..V8_KB PC - The scream of an Eaton Supercharger from the brutal Ford Mustang Boss 302 HPE650 at Laguna Seca.

    PAGE 4
..Leif – A quali lap during a race! LeiF drives the TPC Sim Racing liveried Ford Escort RS 1600 around Goodwood Circuit like his trousers are on fire.

    PAGE 8
..Sissydriver - Treading gingerly on icy roads in the gorgeous Porsche 911 Singer around the Hargasser Loop at Aspertsham.

    PAGE 9
..ivann_11 - A beautiful still of $3.5 million dollar 1957 Porsche 718 RSK showing hard use – the most expensive car so far and also, a cunning word play on the title of the competition.
..Andy-R – The extraordinary Voisin C6 from 1923, with propeller to pump the engine coolant, showing some style, crossed up and declutched around Goodwood.
..Totall Wrytoff – In the radically overpowered for its chassis Shelby Cobra - Heeling and toeing in a race of legends around Zandvoort – arguably the best entry so far, but no one has looked at it! Yet.
..Rod100 – A touching showcase and tribute to his favourite car, the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti. Shown off in an artistic and contemporarily accurate still of the car exiting the final corner of the Nurburgring, with supporting personal memorabilia.

    PAGE 11
..Moodyryder – A thoughtful comparison, showing the excellence of a sim racing game versus arcade level alternatives, with three Jenson-Button-smooth, back to back laps of Barcelona GP in the Pagani Zonda R
..Pretend Racer – A furiously smokin’ lap around Magione in the wild Mercedes AMG SLS, demonstrating an unrelenting lack of mechanical sympathy and psychopathic intent to destroy all rubber – to us that is poetry, set to beautiful music.

    The Nordschleifemeister Podium

    1st Place - The Nordschleifemeister
@Pretend racer! Many congratulations, deserved, master of single seat and saloon around one of the world’s most difficult bits of road.
Winner in the Nismo, beating LeiF, by not very much at all, and runner up to Lewis in Senna’s Lotus gives Pretend racer a 14sec lead over second placed…..

    2nd Place
….hang on, Totall Wrytoff?! In 2nd place??? Needless to say, TW has instantly and completely binned the Talledega mantra, “if you’re not first…,” and is currently well on the way to victory, as they say. Many congrats indeed to me, brilliant driving, keep it up!

    3rd Place
@LeiF takes third spot. He pushed Pretend racer very close in the dangerous Datsun, if he had found another 7/10ths… surely not that difficult a task in seven and a half minutes… Brilliant lap and credit to LeiF for getting into a single seater and having a crack. NB @Lewisxbone!

    Nismo Hotlap
    1st – @Pretend racer – as mentioned above
    2nd - @LeiF – a.m. above
3rd - @Mustang 500 tamed the Nismo, dipping under 7 mins 30 secs with a 7.28.5, great time, great lap, thanks for playing and well done.
Worthy of mention - @DriverModFTW dived in with a late improvement 7.31 to deny TW 4th spot – he has no idea how close his incorrectly formatted entry was from being disqualified….

    Lotus Hotlap
    1st - @Lewisxbone
Well, this is all about @Lewisxbone! Wow and wow again. 5 minutes 27.338 seconds. Makes me feel a bit queasy!! That is epic Lewis, it clearly took your full focus, but it was worth it. Liking the focus. Many congrats.
    2nd – Pretend racer, second place, I’ve got a standard para somewhere…
3rd – Yeeeeeessssss! Totall Wrytoff on the podium. Again. Come on England etc. No hint of a Neilski. I will be beyond typing or posting very soon.
Worthy of mention - @moodyryder, it took me a week to do what you did in an hour. @LeiF, as mentioned above, but respect again! @sissydriver, @ivann_11 and @Laughing Gravy – respect and envy from the rest of the forum, you made it round, they didn’t!!
This hotlap was meant to put capital letters in for the word “challenge.” Not many were up for it, but quality shone through! To everyone who entered a time, you have driving skills and you are a proper man!
Despite appearances although the 530Kg 1200hp Lotus required larger plums, turned out the Nismo was far harder to get round in one piece!

A sting in the tail – 8 lap race – Podium

    1st place
    Pretend racer - 6.04.313
Ooooh that was close! 4/10ths, after 8 laps and three sets of “don’t-look’at’them’you’ll-hit-them.” But what a time, ahead of Andy-R although, he probably only had a couple of quick goes at it! Great overtakes, very fast and accurate as a Swiss watch over eight laps. Well done Pretend racer!

    2nd Place
    @Andy-R - 6.04.731
Only had a couple of quick goes and OMG what a time! I’m not sure I’ve ever done a write up for Andy-R in second place. He’s never last, he is always first! Andy-R is a great sport and an even better driver, and a great driver and an even better sport.

    3rd Place
    @DriverModFTW - 6.06.278
6 mins and 6 secs, is not only tough to say at this point, but also a very fast time. It is eight great laps and no mistakes, after some technical discussion with 4th placed LeiF.

The race was meant to be a bit of fun, but for some it turned personal. @Emmanuel Tubbiolo threw down a gauntlet and was clearly so shocked at the force and skill with which it was returned that he wasn’t seen again. Other gauntlets were also thrown and safely recovered.
The race as an event may feature more often, once someone else has taken over, obviously.

    Welcome back!
It was great to see @mike reynolds, @V8_KB and @Gijon make a brief re-appearance. V8, please include Assetto Corsa with full rig in your 12month plan and Gijon, there is only one game! Good to see @365gt, there he is! Best wishes to you, we all wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to your return.

I have to say, many apologies to Tvvang, I have been to specsavers as they say, I beg your pardon! Please shout at me if I get your name wrong, I can’t see or hear well anymore.

Finally – Thank-you someone for a vote of 5 stars! If anyone fells like volunteering to help out with the WHCs please drop me a PM. I’d like to have WHC155 to 159 off and can pick-up again at WHC160, I can help you with the posts… what say you? Or do we all think @gamma500 should have a go?

Great stuff! Well done all round :)

Didn’t end up having another go at the Datsun, I know I could have improved my time as was a good second up by flugplatz on an earlier go, but it is so hard to stay on it all the way at nords.

I knew I would have had to put in a seriously special lap to beat the target but ultimately got carried away with other things this week, including a couple of excellent 1 h races at Nords Endurance, some mega races in the Maserati GT4 and one epic race in the Ginetta GT5. After sacrificing much rubber to the racing gods, and with multiple aliens lying defeated at trackside there was sadly no time left for more hotlapping.

Just skipped ahead to check the next challenge - uh oh! You would be right to assume that is NOT my sort of car at all...
