1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge 169 - Hot Boxin' da Club

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #169 Hot Boxin' da Club

Da club is bumping and da boxster is lit, yo! We will be smoking rubber (and whatever else you fancy) around the Vallelunga Club circuit with Porsche 718 Boxster S.

I got to ride in a Boxster S when they first came out. My Uncle had a bright red one, and he took me for a disappointingly sedate ride in it, thanks to the plethora of revenue generators lying in wait. I did marvel at how tight the car was, even though he wasn't pushing it you could tell it would rail around the corners. It wasn't able to sit you back in the seat during hard acceleration like some cars can because it only puts out about 310 bhp, but on a twisty road it would grip and rip as it only weighed around 1400kgs. He wouldn't let me drive it of course, so here we are, with me - blowing smoke up all y'all's asses!

The last time I lit this joint up I managed a 56.0 with the stock setup. According to RSR the WR is held by Fox Gek at 55.624.

Ideal psi for Semi slicks is 30 psi front, and 32 psi rear. Street tires should be set at 40 psi front, and 42 psi rear.

I'm not sure how much love Vallelunga gets but I really like it. Its got a great mix of high speed fully committed corners, with low speed technical corners with some great overtaking opportunities in a couple of spots. Its not too long or too short so I think its a pretty decent overall track. However, the Club version is pretty intense - at times you feel a bit like a dyslexic NASCAR driver with all the right hand sweepers, but with your hair flapping in the wind, and the finely tuned Boxster scrambling for grip as the left side tires burn up on an Italian track, it does seem weird to bring up NASCAR in the first place. I'll admit though - I'll probably do a few smoky laps with the top up around 4:20pm, for all my drift fans of course, hahah.

How to take part - Hot lap:
To enter, select Hotlap, choose the Porsche 718 Boxster S and the Vallelunga Club circuit.
Please setup the session as shown below:
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Free
    Stability: Free
To qualify you must have the ambient temp set to 26 DegC.

Deadline: Sunday March 15 - by 18:00 GMT.

Chequered Flag will drop shortly before 6pm.

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like. It is all about taking part, pushing yourself and enjoying Assetto Corsa. All Platforms are welcome.
To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Please use the following format to post your times:
Improvement (Only required if you have already posted a time)
Your name (as you would like it to appear on the leaderboard)
Your time - shown as x.xx.xxx.
    Your platform (PC Xb1 PS4)
The screen shot showing your time.
(Optional but in the spirit) Your thoughts and comment

Failure to use the correct format is considered by all as very sloppy and can make the admin very slightly more complicated. You run the risk of adverse comment. Additional infringement generates a personal message from Head of Admin. If, astonishingly, that is not enough, your relationship with the WHC will be extremely rocky and your lap times may not feature in the standings.

I just realised that we're now on 3 weeks in a row of Porsches. And they have been (cough) soooo similar to each other too :D :p
As for this one, wow, it really feels like a different car with the TC turned on. I mean I know I should expect that to some extent but the TC neuters it sooo badly it's just nasty to drive.
I set this time after a little bit of mild setup tweaking (camber/toe mostly) and then failed to improve on it after another 8+ laps :-S

Thanks for having a keen eye there! Post has been edited.

I didn’t notice the run of Porsche’s haha.

Tc is the bane of all street cars imo.

    Hi everyone,
first of all - thanks for the challenge!
The Boxster S appears to drive on rails and is actually a very fine car and pleasant to drive. The trick with the Boxster is to find the balance between drift and grip. It's a game of balance (F:R 50:50), when you go to 51% drift at the rear, you will lose time. When you have too much balance to the front, you will understeer and that is what makes these Porsches so hard to drive on the limit. Not much room for setup, you should keep it stock and maybe add a little rear camber to catch the slides.

Vid should be up in a few hours... Setup is included at the end of the vid.

Well I managed to shave a second of my previous attempt. I watched @GoodGame.eXistenZ vid, and I saw that he is downshifting at the same instant he hit the brakes into t1. I tend to let the revs drop a bit so that I won't ever lock up the rear wheels by shifting badly. But in this car the engine braking really does help slow the car down. Once I started doing that consistently I shaved a tenth or two off of my time.

I had to ignore your advice about setup though lol. I kept increasing the negative camber and adding positive toe everytime I started a new session. Every time I kept getting faster too! I finally ended up with full neg camber on front and rear. Full positive toe on the front and a good dose of positive toe on the rear.

I was really trying to break into the 54's but just couldn't quite make it... I saw 54.9 on my delta a few times which made me keep wanting to try for it but I ran out of time.

@Neilski threw down the gauntlet by setting the first laptime. But he's hoping for some setup advice after he realized he's a better at computing traction levels than Porsche's onboard TC computer.
@LeiF had a quick session and lit up the stock suspension
@GoodGame.eXistenZ well, I'm just gonna quote @Neilski and say WOW!
@Totall Wrytoff posted a respectable laptime that were hoping he'll be able to improve upon
@DriverModFTW on the podium with a great time.
@Biner back from vacation and feeling relaxed after a night at the club
@Chaos_Chris searching for grip, the grip is gone, what happened to all the grip from last week?
@DonZmeuheu loving the action in da club
@Pretend racer trying to climb the ladder to alien status but not quite able to reach it... yet.

Lots of action so far. Lets see some more setups posted and encourage your friends to have a go!

Hey @Pretend racer : thanks for the video, a nice lap overall. Here is a few tips. Before Tornantino you are too far to the left, losing time/speed through the chicance. Stay to the right to stay in flow of the track. You can use 1. gear, but the Porsche has enough torque to stay in 2nd, plus you can push the throttle earlier and do not unsettle the car by downshifting. I guess you can save 1 tenth here. By avoiding the slides through the first and last corner you could gain another 0,5 tenth - keep the car steady.
