1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge 170 – Feel the speed, the speed for need

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Mar 14, 2020.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge 170 – Feel the speed, the speed for need

The quarantine busting Formula 1 fix, brought to you by the WHC, the sporting body that never cancels.

    Challenge
    Hotlap:
    Car: Ferrari F2004
    Track: Imola
    upload_2020-3-14_17-53-2.png
    upload_2020-3-14_17-53-9.png
After Pretend Racer’s hot boxin, I thought, “wee’d need speed.”
This is the best you can get, I promise.
We have been denied F1, along with countless other cancellations, so, as a replacement buzz, here is the best, (in my humble…) of AC’s modern F1 cars.
It is a howling, ripping, screamer - Even my 18yr old daughter, annoyed by the terrific noise was impressed, and paid at least a few whole seconds of attention as I demonstrated the speed gathered from the pit exit to turn 1.
Pit lane rolling to nearly 170mph, in about 300m? Check it out.
My hope is that the glorious F2004 will plaster a big smile across your face at this time of global gloominess!

    Did someone say Imola?
    Is it safe?
Weirdly, although run twice in WHC, we have only used the F2004 in Germany. Hugo’s WHC 74 was Nurbs, WHC136 was Nords.
Italian (self-isolated) air is what this car breathes best and coupled with a recent customer request, makes the Autodromo di Enzo e Dino Ferrari the perfect choice for this week.
You can bet no one else will be there either!
Plus, unlike the F2004 Nordschleife experience, “...an eye-widening, vivid, shocking, flurry of apices, gears, brakes and throttle,” at Imola you will have time to dial in to the car and just revel in it’s very, very special performance. As with most weeks, the first time you send the car down the straight and come onto the brakes for turn 1 is telling. In the first quick test yesterday it made me laugh. I slowed hours too early!! Try the 50m board!

The Ferrari F2004 was designed by the dream team of Rory Byrne, Ross Brawn and Aldo Costa. I mentioned its complete dominance of the 2004 season in the WHC136 intro, but no mention of why. The principal reason is the engine.
The F2004 is voiced and powered by an engine called the Tipo 053.
The Tipo 053 isn’t just any old engine.
The Tipo 053 is a Scuderia Ferrari designed, three litre, naturally-aspirated, mid-mounted V10, with in-house Ferrari 7-speed sequential, semi-automatic paddle shift transmission. Oh yeah. Officially power is 865 horsepower at a mechanically unbelievable 18,300 RPM. That’s the noise. The speed is largely due to a kerb weight of 605 kg.

The Tipo 053 V10 has to be the game’s ultimate motor for noise and speed.
In fact it’s worth a “grazie mille, Scuderia Ferrari e Kunos!”
    upload_2020-3-14_17-54-39.png
Imola in the F2004 is a riot.
It is the only car that I have driven around here that made the braking into Rivazza successfully at the first attempt! Piratella is tricky, don’t be tempted to try too hard, but generally, the F2004’s scintillating performance demolishes the circuit.
Slice off a bit of downforce, lengthen the transmission a touch, watch those kerbs and enjoy the “velocita estrema!”

Recommended tyre pressure for all compounds is 23psi

Lap-time-wise, you had better take a deep breath.
The fastest times are quite shocking, to me at least.
I’ve done a 1.23 in a handful of test laps (and a quick race.) The fastest time posted is nearly TEN SECONDS quicker…. A 1:14.775.
Better 1 min 20, just to rank around 265th!

Let’s see what we can do by next Sunday evening.
Tyre warmers off, away we go, eyeballs out on stalks.
    Rip. It. Up!

Hello Simracers and Hello WHC Community,

tried this combo yesterday and now my decision is clear: Video killed the radio star.
Had such a good time with ACC in the last two weeks and with my new PC its so enjoyable, stable FPS, enough CPU Power for a lot of AI cars.
Had to install AC from scratch - invested a lot of hours do download and install all the cars, tracks, livieries, apps and so on, that gave me such a tremendous time of fun and enjoyment.
But - the fun with AC is gone. Fired AC up for ~20 times in the last two weeks. And - yes, the love is cold.
For me the whole package of sound, graphics, ffb and fiddling with setup, changing weather - now i am an ACC guy.
And with the new announcement - who knows what happens this summer? WHC ACC? With GT4 cars?

Thank you so much for the good time, the support, the work you've done, the kind words, the support, the continuos "like" klicks.
Thank you Totall - you poured hours in this and it seems that you continue. Very warm thank you to you.
Thank you to the fast guys, the real aliens, @Pretend racer - you cant imagine how important your weekly help was for me.
Thank you @GoodGame.eXistenZ - your support is very welcome - and greetings to the north ;)

Please stay all healthy - i visited the stream aris did yesterday only in italian, lord kunos said hello to me :D:p:cool: - feels good to know that kunos is such a friendly organisation.

Have fun, rock the tracks, have a good time.

I am sure we will race again when ACC comes to console. :)

    tl;dr

Thank you WHC community, i am out cause ACC is now my big love.

    Bye!

Farewell @sissydriver - but perhaps you'll be back when the lack of variety in ACC gets on your nerves ;):p:)

Its the opposite, @Neilski. There is too much content in ACC. Have to stick with one car and have to learn how it works. But you are right. Its a question of the perspective. ;)
Have fun. We will see us again summer /Fall 2020 (I hope so)

Corrected tyre pressures, dropped rear aero to 18 and lengthened each gear by a click to two, top speed at 205mph.
Seems to have helped over the stock, by about 3 secs!!:)

@sissydriver I share your thoughts on ACC, but I always look in here each week, even if I only participate in a few when a combo takes my fancy (like this one!), so don't give up on AC completely!

Here is my slightly scrappy lap, I would be very grateful if someone could say where I'm losing most time:) please.

Well... I’m shockingly rusty and lacking all ability to go any faster without messing up.
Feels like I’m back at the beginning again. Not good!! Not good at all.
    Lovely combo though.

Hmm my fav track, lots of downforce, what’s not to like about this challenge! Got to 1.24.242 so far but so far off the pace of the regulars .
Some time need to go into this.
Fortunately as I am on 4 weeks garden leave and can’t go away anywhere I have some time on my hands..

I am awful in any single seater. Especially an F1 car. I will not enjoy this challenge so im not sure if any improvements will be had but here is an entry to say the least. @Lewisxbone you're too funny, that's a solid time!

I have tried ACC on a few occasions, but GT3 cars are just not my thing, they feel heartless to me. ACC is a great sim and it already has a lot to offer, but at the moment the cars keep me off from it, but maybe it will change with the GT4 cars. OR I should simply spend more time with it, which I have not done for now.
Of course I pray for AC 2 someday...

Good luck to you, we could meet up on ACC someday :p
