We’re running one of the last cars not yet run, the BMW Z4 E89 Step 1 around the oft overlooked Nurburgring GP circuit.
But, since it is the week before a big one, let’s have a bonus; one of my favourite and one of the most exciting cars in WHC!
The magnificent, 1200bhp for 523kg, Lotus 98T! You have the power of two and a half horses for each kilo.
The 98T’s whopping grunt comes from a Renault Gordini developed, 1,492cc, V6 turbo. Traction is remarkable considering and I like the way it accelerates.


Don’t forget Ambient Temp at 10C!

BMW Z4 E89 Step 1 - semislicks – 33 psi front 34 psi rear
Lotus 98T – All compounds - 28 psi

Fastest in the BMW is GoodGame with a red hot 2:22.348
Fastest time for the Lotus 98T is a stunning 1:34.645, once again by Jacub Krcma


I think the Warsteiner Kurve is the most important and most difficult corner on this technical track. Haug-Haken has the best name.

Reiter Engineering is a German racing team, named after founder Hans Reiter. He likes racing Lamborghinis, having cut his teeth on a Diablo GT, then a Murciélago R-GT, before Gallardo and Camaro GT3s for the FIA GT3 European Championship. Besides running the factory squads in their respective championships Reiter also builds and sells its cars to other teams for various uses. Here’s what he’s done to a KTM, for GT4 competition.

Recommended tyre pressure should be around 27 psi.

How to take part: *Assetto Corsa Challenge*
To enter the Assetto Corsa Challenge, select Hotlap, choose the BMW Z4 E89 Step 1 and or the Bonus Car the Lotus 98T and the Nurburgring GP circuit.
Please setup the session as follows:
Mode: Hotlap
Setup: Ambient Temp: 10 DegC / Time of day: Free / Controller: Free / Assists: Free / Stability: Free.
To qualify you must have the ambient temp set to 10DegC.

In Single Player:
· Choose the Reiter Engineering R-EX GT3
· Challenge: Select HotStint
· Duration: 10 mins x 48
· Time: Select 09:00
· Select the Nurburgring circuit
· Weather - select CLOUDY
· Disable DYNAMIC
· Disable RANDOM
· Track Grip: Select FAST
· Wetness/ Standing water at: 0%
The screen shot required to enter your time is in Timetables at the end of the session.
Realism and Assist Settings are up to you. Ideally, please use PRO

You can run as many laps as you can manage and update your times as often as you like. It is all about taking part, pushing yourself and enjoying Assetto Corsa and Competizione. Had a quick go at this because you can't have pudding until you've had all of your greens.
In fact, the BM Z4 Step 1 is a pleasing, if noisy, steer.
I really wanted to get to pudding though.

Did a few laps to get to the right tyre pressures and slightly adjust the gears (longer 1,2,3 and 4) just to enjoy more than a split second in each gear. My brain, hand and foot don't work that fast!
Early days, but WHOOOSH!!!!
Nowhere are you short of power. The lap felt mega, but it is over 10secs off WR....

I like this car...it's pretty much the slowest of the GT3's, but it is fun to drive. This challenge could be frustrating though, 6 laps has to be the target but I'm not good at Nürburgring and that might remain tantalisingly out of reach!

Reasonable first attempt. Think 6 laps may be just out of my reach, I may be able to go fast enough to start lap 6 with the current fuel level, but there's only about 0.8L left after 5 laps. The extra 3L of fuel may negate the extra speed??

Made it to the 6th with a with a couple of tenths to spare (was so happy I messed up the 6th lap by missing the braking point into T1!)

At some point I will try the classic f1, but I feel it won't be a safe match with me as a driver.

I set the progression at x48 although at the top of the page it says Time: 09:00 x 1. There's no way I shall be managing 6 laps on this challenge although I know on P Cars 2 that I can just scrape in under 2 mins a lap with GT3 cars but not on this game.

I have set my goal to break 10:10. I have also depressed myself this week. Got to play ACC on a prototype rig running a 3080 card and DD wheel. All I can say is, my word! Not sure if it was the obscene frame rate or the more advanced version number PC version is at, but I averaged 3-4 seconds per lap quicker pretty much anywhere. It was a fab experience!

@GoodGame.eXistenZ drives another blinder and shows us how it should be done. I think it was a case of "here's one I did earlier," and if I could be cheeky having studied the vid, I think there are a few tenths still on his table! @F1415182235 is also in the top echelon with a sub 1.24, a cracking time and the rest of us need to practice. Heavily!

Only @Laughing Gravy and I have attempted the "real man's challenge." Respect to both of us!
