Only 24 people have logged a time with this combo. Most of the times are around the 2.30 - 2.32 range.

Now for the first time ever in the WHC we will have a mod car and a mod track! Its about time the WHC got with the times in order to attract new blood. Mods is the reason AC is still a viable game. If we want to keep the WHC viable mods might be the way to do it.





The first mods we will be using will be the Boss 429 Mustang @ Riverside Long. America is not well represented in AC and so the modders came to the rescue!

How to take part -
Hot lap: To enter, select Drive > Hotlap, choose the Porsche 908
Please setup the session using the settings below:

Track: Monza 1966 Full Course
Time of day: Free Ambient
Temp: Free
Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Factory
Stability: Free
Deadline: Sunday January 9th 2022 I usually post the results around 10pm MST.

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, it’s simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used! Please post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

Riverside is a really fun track....might have to boot up AC this week!

 

I’ve never driven the Mustang or Riverside, mainly because I hadn’t downloaded them!
They’re now downloaded, cue a massive learning curve with them both this week.

I also envisage a fair few brown pants moments with the Porsche at Monza

This car is insane!

It has buckets of understeer which has to be corrected with your right foot, but also way too much power so a little too much right foot and you're toast. I also think sticking your arm out of the window when approaching the braking points would be more effective than the actual brakes are.

This car is a pussy cat in comparison to the Mustang. I'm not sure how much more my wrists can take from the bumps on the banking though.

Fun car and track. Has anyone else tried to accidentally park the mustang with the motorhomes? I have!

Did I get the right track option? This one is 5300m long.

@Rod100 I can't remember the length of the track, it's Riverside Long that you need to use.

Also I think you have used the 429R instead of the 429?

Took a bit of time to figure out how to dial out the understeer while under power. I played with the arbs, dampers, camber, diff power/coast settings, ride height, suspension, brake bias, and fuel and psi of course.

Certainly improvable, at least adjusted tire pressures and fuel.

On the AC side, the mustang 429 has the same problem as the Abarth stage 1 and 2 few weeks ago. It's in the folder, but AC does not recognize it. Trying a reinstall now.

Well, it seems like I may have chosen the wrong car, oops! After trying this combo I realized it sucks because the gearing is too short for this track. Sorry guys.

I tried the 429R and that is definitely the car we should have been using as it has the correct gearing for the track.

I did these laptimes with a totally stock setup. Fun car to drift around very catchable and fun to steer with the throttle.




I will create a leaderboard for both the 429 and the 429R so feel free to have another go (or not) no pressure either way.

 

How are you installing the download? Do you use Content Manager?

 

It's the standard AC downloaded from steam plus rsr and sim dashboard apps. I tried disabling the apps with no result. Then last night I uninstalled it and reinstalled from steam, but problem persists. Maybe content manager is of avail? Interesting that the Abarths are original content.

I think that CM can have troubles downloading files sometimes. I tend to download the car or track to my hard drive, then use the 'install from file' option in CM. That has been working for me lately.




I would check the file integrity on Steam as well...





If you don't use CM then you'll have to download the car/track file and then unzip it and manually place the cars in the correct folder. This can be a little tricky depending on the file structure of the unzipped file.

I’ll have to try the R and see if the experience improves - made no adjustments to the non-R due to hating it from the off and couldn’t be arsed.

A longer acc session today.

Made a few adjustments, tc1 1, tc2 1 or 2 (depends on how aggressive you want), abs 1, map 1. Brought brake bias to 59.6%. Changes made over the aggressive setup.
