1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

What are Kunos next track plans?

Hi, since a time i haven't heard anything from Kunos about new tracks and i was wondering if they have announced anything about it? do they owe us any track or they made all of the tracks that have been announced?

I remember they were planning to make a Classic Spa, what happened with that??

    Cheers!

Laguna Seca is scanned and coming later this year.

Kunos have information to make historic Spa but it's a huge track making it too much work apparently. As far as we know it's not a goer at this time.

Other than that we know nothing. Tracks seem to be difficult for every developer.

Aside from a safety rating, leaderboards, and better multiplayer racing features, we need more tracks, not more cars for AC!!

Sadly, we're running low on tracks and not cars, limiting the possibilities for races.... There's only so many GT3/F1/GT2 races we can do on Spa in 2,5 years without getting bored out of our brains.

Pretty sure there are more tracks then Spa ;) also quite a few high quality scratch made tracks that can double the official numbers.

  7. There is reason that Kunos made AC mod-friendly. Just sayin'

    SPOILER ALERT:
Mods fill in the gaps that are left because of the limitations of being a small dev team; this is completely by design.

I know, I'm over-exhaggerating to make a point. But as someone who has been involved in league racing within AC for 2 years now, I've pretty much seen every track 3 or 4 times, with some official content being used even more. We just severely lack track variety.

Yeah and that doesn't work if only 20% of the mods are actually good enough to host league races on. Most of the mods are illegal rips with a physical mesh that resembles a pool table - completely flat.

There's a bunch of good mods out there, like Paul Ricard, Donington, Tor Poznan, and etc. I'm aware of those, and we do extensive testing on every single mod released to see if the quality is up to snuff. That does not take away that Kunos for a long time have ignored making racetracks (notice the race addition? Black cat country isn't exactly a racetrack).

The fact that AC has the same amount of official content GT3 cars as tracks as they race on (12 vs 12) says a lot about the design choices. But hey, I forgot rule #1 of AC - not allowed to critique design choices becasue the dev team is small.

I would be surprised if this was true, people would be just as happy to pay for tracks as cars I would think if not more so.
I know I would pay more for a laser scanned track and maybe one or two cars (not that cars are even necessary) then for a pack of 10 plus cars.

I would definitely pay for official tracks, these days I'd so much love a laser-scanned Le Mans! I agree that AC hardcore league racers have way less official tracks to race on than, say, iRacing or other sims. Just a look at the iRacing track list (http://www.iracing.com/tracks/) makes me salivate for quite a few tracks I'd like to have in AC.

One thing to consider is that AC caters to a diverse audience so it's hard to satisfy everyone, for example I think the Highlands is a very good fictional track for road cars, very well done, but of course racers need tracks and possibly real tracks. Kunos devs also repeatedly said that track licenses for laser-scanned tracks are particularly expensive. The only suggestion I can give them is to choose less famous tracks for once, and hire some of the best modders to realize the actual tracks, same as they did for the cars. The fact that AC is a popular platform nowadays could convince track owners to have their track made, imagine the promotion they get when their track becomes popular among sim racers.

Having said that, for the semi-casual players like me the variety and sheer number of mod tracks is satisfying. Like, last weekend I think I drove at least 2 hours on the Tajo hill climb mod with AI traffic, then a multiplayer race at Monza, a couple of laps of the Nords on an F40 on a track day server and probably 4 hours (!!) trashing the F40 and Yellowbird on Lake Louise free roam with a bunch of other guys.

If you want to see spa from a different pov maybe don't drive GT2/3 or modern F1s on it, they have too much downforce for their power and it makes half the corners flat out.

There are some sweet mods, but the thing with mod tracks is that i don't see them much being used online... and i'm not talking about leagues, i'm talking about public servers...
When i search for a race is rare to see a server with a track that's not Spa, or Monza... maybe Mugello, Imola, or Silverstone.. rarely Barcelona or Zandvoort... but a mod that's not for drifting? too rare. People is a little boring i guess.. the only thing they do is tourist the nordschleife and race a GT3 in Spa... having so much cars and track mods... it's kinda sad. Only Kunos tracks get lots of use in multiplayer racing...

Maybe people don't use other track mod servers because they don't have the tracks.. in that case, Assetto should be able to download the mod track used in that server for you right in the moment.... other racing games just do that. This would help a lot to promote using mod tracks in multiplayer racing.

There are two problems with mod tracks though.

The quality is a mixed bag, there are certainly epic ones like Donnington, Barbagallo and Tor Poznan which is unusual in itself as it's lazerscanned). But then some others like Thruxton (I've driven this one in real life, the mod is very average) and even Sarthe that has issues and not supported at all.

Second is that you need to go out of your way to find and instal them so less likely people will join the servers running them and when they do get regular updates everyone has to update them to not get mismatch errors.

For just lapping by yourself the options are awesome though

Exactly this i think is the biggest issue with them. AC should automatically download the track from the server like other racing games do!

Sadly don't think this will happen as it is probably a fair bit of work and could only be used on the PC version due to the Microsoft/Sony approval procces
