1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Hi Guys,
Sorry if this has been brought up before but I would like to ask which wheel would you recommend to get? I appreciated that there is a price difference between these three but just need to get some feedback from those who use them. Now I'm looking at the Thrustmster T300 or the Logitech G29 or even at the lower end of the budget the Thrustmaster T80

I've got the g29 and the t300. The g29 seems to have more informative force feedback, better pedals, better build quality and more buttons.

The T300 has more powerful force feedback.

    Thanks
    Hi,
So if you had to buy again one of these which one would you go for? It seems from various reviews the T300 is the better unit but with crappy pedals and the G29 is in 2nd place but with far better pedals.

Don't always agree with everything they say, but I do think John is a smart individual and has good info.

I've tried the g29, tx300, csl elite, acuroforce and own a Fanatec v2 with a couple wheels. I disliked the g29 above all else. Old tech, not modular like the others and the most toy like.

It depends on whether you like very strong force feedback or not. If you do, then the t300 is the wheel for you. As far as everything else is concerned the g29 beats the t300 hands down. I disagree that it is toy-like or old tech.

For me also the g29 seems to present more detail in the force feedback, but tends to rattle when going over large kerbs. The t300 does not because there a lot more damping, but the corollary of that is less detailed force feedback.

The other difference is the feel. The t300 feels as though every car you drive is on really high profile ballon-like tyres, whereas the g29 feels like every car is on hard, low profile racing tyres. In my view racing cars feel more convincing with the g29, and road cars feel more convincing with the g29.

So there is no clear answer here. It depends on what you like and whether you drive mainly race cars or road cars. Ideally you should have both, as different cars demand different feel. However, if price is important and you don't like very strong force feedback, go with the g29. At the end of the day you won't be dissapointed with either one.

How exactly is it not old technology?? It's the same hardware as a g25/27 which is literally 11 years old now.

Also when comparing the thrustmaster to Logitech in which one is more toy like - the thrustmaster has swappable wheels made of leather and alcantara and closer in diameter to the real wheels. Also with multiple choices of metal pedals/hardware including inverted, let's not forget the thrustmaster manual shifter which is sorta a standard (not my favorite but certainly a superior unit to anything Logitech offers) - compared to the Logitech I think my comment regarding most toy like is actually more than fair. The thrustmaster starts pretty simple but as you get more serious you can make it better and better.

I owned a g25 years back and it was a fine unit for the time, the thrustmaster- especially the Ferrari alcantara wheel is superior in every aspect in my opinion.

Tim, does as you please but I've literally owned 6-7 wheels in my life over the last dozen years - Logitech is currently not a brand I would consider. It's very plug and play and they tend to last - but regardless you should check a couple comparison videos before parting with your money and more important (to me) time.

I have a Thrustmaster Ferrari alacantara T300. And just swapped the standard pedals for the Pro.(no difference really but better built)
Superior in every way than Logitech and I can't fault the FFB!

I had all Wheels from Fanatec,Logitech.Thrustmaster. The only ones that never failed was the Logitechs. If you scout the web its pretty clear that
Thrustmaster and Fanatec has a higher tendensy to break. Thrustmaster maybe has improved the TX and T300 over the last 1.5 years that I dont know
becouse I have not investegated it. My TX lasted a half year so did the Fanatec. But when they worked it was a more pleasant FFB experience than the G27.29
but not in any major way.

I bought my TX wheel in february 2014 and played 2200+ hours with this wheel with strong ffb settings and it still works perfect ;)

So i would highly recommend a Thrustmaster wheel !

If you are prepared to risk a wheel with a high failure rate and frustrating random button activation spoiling your laps then go for T300 as it is a great wheel for AC. I have had 1 wheel base fail and suffer continuously from the random button activation which is a very common problem. I wish I had one that was trouble free as it ticks all the boxes if you combine it with decent pedals. I never had one single hiccup when using my G27 on other games for years on end.

  17. I have had both and enjoyed both, depends on budget, pedals with G920 are far superior in my opinion, budget for pedals if you get the Thrustmaster, in some ways I think the pedals are more important because its the braking that makes you faster?

I have T150 and i feel the ffb is better than G25, what i have for 5-7 years, before i buy T150.
T150 pedals arent great, but i believe they are basically the same as T300. I use Richmotech adapter to use my G25 pedals with T150.

I have the t3PA pro pedals for my t300 (I snapped the brake pedal off on the original ones) and I'm still quicker with the g29. Possibly this is due to the fact that I have no load cell on the t3pa pros and the g29 brake pedal does a pretty good job at simulating a load cell feel.

Plus I feel that the g29 steering is ever slightly quicker to react to my inputs than the t300.

My ideal wheel would be g29 responsiveness, combined with the strength and smoothness of the t300. Plus t3pa pro pedals with a load cell.

The other issue that complicates things is the fact that thrustmaster tends to lack reliability and Logitech is virtually indestructible.

So the choice really isn't easy if you have to decide between Logitech and thrustmaster, unfortunately.

I'm enjoying the to and fro in this thread. Not sure why anyone ever starts one like this to be honest. You're only going to get biased opinion, and a crap load of arguments.

    I disagree :p:p:p

A lot of opinions have been posted and have given the OP good feedback of peoples experience on different wheels and pedals.
So from the thread my perfect wheel would be T300 base with logitech reliability, any wheel rim that doesn't have random button activation, G29 pedals with load cell, TH8A shifter.
