1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Would you like to see a Race Engineer in ACC (as per PCars2)?

Just to state that I am loving playing the early access version of ACC in VR (Rift) and I think the cars with their weighty feel, dynamic and predictable handling and great sound are a real joy to drive. Excellent work by Kunos and am really looking forward to the start of full online multiplayer racing (despite having had some great AI races).

So, my question is whether others in the Community would like to see a Race Engineer in ACC similar to that in PCars2.

I know that I benefitted massively from the tips that the RE gave to help improve handling on a number of fronts. For example, I (like many players I assume) understand the principles of what elements of the elements of suspension - camber/toe/caster, springs and dampers, roll bars, etc - do in principle but as with Assetto Corsa and PCars 1, making specific adjustments (and combinations of adjustments) that you know will have a specific positive effect on a particular handling characteristic is something that I just don't have time to immerse myself in. Hence the Race Engineer was a massive help for suggesting quick tweeks to move you in the right direction (explaining the reason why and what to expect the difference to be).

For those who are experienced in setups and seem to have more than 24 hours in every day to spend endless hours practicing, testing setups and refining lap times this will obviously be worthless but I am sure there are a lot of people like me who only have a limited amount of time a couple of nights a week and just want to get in and race and have the option of some expert help when the car is not behaving so well.

Will be interesting to see what the balance of opinion is!

I agree, this would be a really useful and good feature. I used the RE in PC2 a fair bit to get me going on setups, and still use it a bit today for stuff I don't understand.

Only if it works. The one in PCars2 is useless.

Would be a good future and in ACC its more likely to work cause there aren't that many cars. It makes it easier for newbes to get into the game and maybe make some interested in trying to do their own setups.

Anyway rather hope that (in offline races) it becomes more lively, currently its still AC-ish. The former could be combined with the later, too. The guy from the pitradio could guide you through for example.

They have made a massive change in code by replacing the "2" with "pro" and its now more perfect.

I suspect Kunos did more the a name change as physics in ACC are a good evolution over AC. Thats probably why it works out better to have real coders to work on physics and not just the marketing team. ;)

lol Project Cars 'PRO'... smh. $100 says it will be another bug-ridden, copy-paste game that will be broken from day 1 and will never be fixed. They can't even fix Project Cars 2.

A bit of topic but lucklly it will not be avilable to normal public..this is targeted towards the companies etc.
sadlly Gamers kickstarted PC1 and with its "success" they developed PC2 and now stab in the back from them to all their fan base..lol

It would really be a d*ck move to anyone who ever infested money into Project Cars 1.

Professional drivers like Nicki Thiim say Project Cars 2 is nothing but an arcade-y game, it has nothing to do with real life driving (as he says). So I wonder what use this game actually will be for Porsche. If it has the same broken physics PCars2 has, I can't imagine Porsche actually using it to test their cars.
Tbh, I really don't care which direction they go. I will most likely never buy another game from SMS anyway. SMS makes games with a quantity over quality mindset, I prefer it the other way around.

I think a Race Engineer if done well would be really useful but the Wet, Safe and Aggressive setups are a good compromise. What I would like to be able to do is compare them side by side to see how they differ as in GT Sport.
