WTF KUNOS?! Magione is the only online track for drifting right now?!

Kunos has done it again! By some secret wizardry they have taken the "Drift" track off of online servers and replaced it with a track that is a terrible course for drifting. MAGIONE.

Let me tell you why this track sucks for drifting,

-Massive straightaway
-Track too big makes it hard to meet up for tandems, most drivers are spread out they might as well be playing by themselves
-Can't drive backwards without being put on timeout in the pits which disables the ability to just train one good section and turn around each time (Which would be for good tandem trains but nooooo)

Other relevant complaints:

-3 Cars we were previously able to drift in (A Ruf Porche, Mustang, and GT86) were removed from online lobbies when they added SOME NOT ALL of the Japanese pack cars into drift lobbies earlier this month (Still can't drive any J Pack car that doesn't say "Drift" next to it... including the rx7 that actually drifts somewhat nicely).

-No custom lobbies yet (Everyone seems to say they are coming soon but believe it when I see it

-Limited tuning: Many cars have limited tire options or only one tire option (Time attack supra) as well as limits on the drivetrain tuning (Changing your gearing is pretty damn important for racing and even more so for drifting).

-Tuning interface looks terrible on console compared to pc, gt5 did tuning better 6 years ago.

-Can't make your own Liveries, Can't change wheels, Can't change Engine tuning, Can't add power, Can't change turbo size, cant change exhaust, cant change transmission types, cant change or upgrade brakes or anything for that matter

This game really is a complete let down as a racing title trying to compete with the much more talented and respectable game design teams at Turn 10 and Polyphony.

Forza and even older Gran Turismos completely blow this game out of the water in terms of content, customization, a proper career mode, online lobbies, graphics, tracks, and overall quality.

The only thing this game MIGHT have over GT and Forza is a slightly more realistic steering/tire physics system but even AC has it's issues in that department. Another small feat for AC from what I am hearing is that they might have slightly better FFB for wheel users but with a lack of content (ESPECIALLY FOR DRIFTERS) the game just doesn't offer enough experience to go along with a wheel (On console, I'm sure it's another story on pc with mods galore but I really think you are kidding yourself if you think console is getting mods from KUNOS lmao)


TL;DR
AC keeps making mistakes and coming short on value offered to their customers, bad console port of the game limits features and gets less support
THEREFORE

Gran Turismo Sport when released will likely convince most if not all of the PS4 Drifting community to move over to that game being a superior product (Keeping in mind the drift lobbies are often amongst the highest populated lobbies in the game right now and Kunos will be losing a massive chunk of it's playerbase to GT when it releases sometime 2017.

Over in XBOX world I'm absolutely positive that 98 percent of the drifting community is on Forza and FH and would rather keep playing those games than to play AC with it's limited content, no customization, and terrible console support.


Lastly,

Any drifters feel free to leave your thoughts below how you think AC drifting will evolve, and if the game can get past it's limitations? Will kunos put any effort in to make drifters happy with their product? Or will they leave it the dry and stale boring game that it is lacking any content or customization? Will the fate of AC console drifters history be to forever drive laps around only one course in the same 5 or 6 cars everyday with limited customization and tuning? I hope not, because I'd actually like to enjoy the game and have fun with others.

It's a shame that the few valid points you want to bring up are drowned out by the apparent emotions of a butthurt 14 year old. Remove the butthurt insulting tirade and your chances of being heard go WAY up.

Also, anyone who thinks GT Sport will be giving drifters what they want/need hasn't been following the development of that game. Kazunori could really give a rip about what fans desire, as GTS (likely to arrive next autumn at best) will be a CONTENT-LIMITED E-sports title. Good luck with all that..

I too wish for AC to give a little more love to the drifting community, as it is obviously a super-popular section of the racing-game world. We just need the criticism to be constructive, that's all.

 

Looking at a lot of the points you brought up I get the impression you expect from Assetto Corsa to be a very different game than it actually is and the devs want it to be. I feel like you're better served with those other titles you mentioned. There's nothing the devs could do to make your kind of player happy without turning it into those titles you expect.

No custom lobbies is the only really valid criticism you brought up in my view, but private lobbies are supposedly coming next year. The game and dev just don't have resources and server architecture at hand so stuff like this takes time, as unfortunate as it is.

Also btw... "gets less support" - yeah, right. Guess 505 Games' support that PC players never had doesn't count.

 

Yeah, post like these really ups your motivation as a dev....
