Generic Xbox One gamepad working perfectly (on PC)

"How does Assetto Corsa play on the gamepad?" is a question I've been asked a few times by consolee owning friends looking forward to the release of AC so I thought I'd plug in the Xbox One controller into the PC and find out. The good news is the gamepad works perfectly and I can match my wheel lap times with ease. The video shows just how smooth and stable the cars in AC are with the gamepad.



I used the exact same car setup for some wheel laps and then gamepad laps, the times 1.31.5 on the wheel and 1.31.7 on the gamepad. And yes I know some of you will be faster than me, the top times are in the 1.29s but my only aim is to demonstrate the playability is the same, with the same player using wheel or pad. The rumble and feedback in the gamepad provide plenty of good information too.

Gamepad settings - the only setting I adjusted was to reduce the sensitivity to 10 (20 is default) as I found the car a little too responsive at first. All other settings I left at default and was able to match my wheel times within a handful of laps.

I've been playing Assetto Corsa for almost 2 years on PC and I'm excited to see how well the game translates to the Xbox One as far as the gamepad is concerned if everything is as it is here on PC it is looking promising.

I'll finish with a couple of comparisons. The gamepad optimisation is far far better than pCARS, I find that game unplayable with the control pad on PC and Xbox One. Best of all, having tried the games back to back I'd say the AC gamepad is easily a match for Forza 6 gamepad play and until now that has been by far the best gamepad experience.
