Weights do not really work.
If you set one track to 100 and all others to 0 it is still very random and not sorted by track.
This never worked.
Sometimes I have the impression the algorithm wants to fool me by purpose.

they are scaled. spend a at least some time to study how. if you only want low latency, put everything to zero and latency at 100, then adjust the other parameters.

 

I want to sort by tracks.
Put 1 track to 100 and all others to 0 and see how random the result is.

 

because there is no another menu. set all the theme other menu to 0 and watch yourself

That's not how this works. It weighs primarily on things like nr people in server, SA, and time until race or Q starts and then your preferences come in (I think..). See it as semi-forced matchmaking .

Also your preferences are balanced so if you like track X but it has a horrible ping and you have non zero weight on ping it might not show it at the top.

I think this is because Kunos feels it wants you to join higher SA servers or ones that it would like everybody to jump on. Sort of "the greater good of the community".

I use it to set Paul Ricard to 100% and Monza to lower than 50% and it does skew the results...

Surely a simple solution is to set max ping you want to see in Lobby. In my list there are less then 10% of the servers I ever would even consider joining. Add to this a min safety level and I could get good use from the server lobby.

As is its atm its functionally useless to me no matter what filter settings I use.

I dont care how many people are in a server that has 300 ping. I dont even ever need to see these my main priority is clean servers in my region. The lobby doesnt allow me to see these, if there are only 10 then fine. I dont need to see 50 servers I will never join.

I managed to do it somewhere during ea.
But it must be broken. another guy has shown it doesn't work.

Otherwise there are other hidden weights, like no empty servers on top, for istance.

 

I reported back in June as they do virtually nothing for me also, and I have tried every possible weighting combo.

6 months on and no love for the lobby UI. The lobby is something we all use heavily and should be top notch as intended, as it is the users first point of contact for the multiplayer experience. If for whatever reason the intended smarts can not easily be implemented then maybe some basic sorts and filters for ping, track & SA should have been enabled in the meantime. As it stands, like others I refresh and scroll through the whole list time and time again as majority of servers at the top are not what I want.

 

I know you have been asking for this for a while. Why do you think a server ping limit is not implemented? Seems like a logical and fairly straight forward thing to do. If Kunos are worried that admins will put the limit ridiculously low, therefore many users cant join servers, then maybe kunos can implement a minimum limit as well..
