1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Progressive system penalty

Slow down system ONLY of course it's not the solution... we need proper racing rules and immersion remember Kunos? ;)

I fully agree with you Christopher, what can change is the amount of warnings until drivethrough/stop&go

    Qualifying or practice invalidated lap!

    Easy ;)

OR forcing people driving correctly don't you think? That's why i say it could be changeable, depends on what kind of realism you're looking for ;)

  4. 3 cuts allowed in 5 laps? o_O
Why even bother with a penalty system?

The slow down when you want it in x amout of time or go to visit pits sounds really the best to me.

I try to think how this can be abused online, which is the biggest problem for penalties today. But i think its pretty solid. Unless you can abuse this before a shikane or a slow part of the track anyways. Like cut the shikane at Nuerburgring GP and slow down for the bend onto the main straight. At which time you might loose the penalty from the natural slow down

Any ideas how to solve that?

    I concur.
    3 cuts + Drive through
    3 cuts again + Stop & Go
    3 again + Disqo-time.

That's more than enough chances to tidy your race up. There're plenty of ways to tweak that, but the warnings need to stick for the duration, just like a yellow card does in a football match. Too many warnings, and you're off.

Just copy iRacing penalty system 1 inc for off track, 2 inc for spin, 4 inc for car contact.

Then let server admins set at which threshold stop and go, time penalty or other punishment is applied. Simple, elegant, flexible and easy to implement.

    Also possible:
    A1 inc for off track
    B2 inc's for spin
C4 inc's for hard car contact.

Server admin can then set which penalties to take into account: ie stop and go only for more than 15 A inc's, no penalty for B or C inc's.

24h race, 1 cut, ban from ac forums, and steam licence taken away, no sorry's no pardons. ;)

This is exciting news. If we can make multiplayer fun again it will take AC to an entirely new level for me.

Spins shouldn't be issued with a penalty, it happens, we don't need that, also for contact, leagues can handle this if you protest ;)

No different penalties Stefano, only change is in qualifying or practice sessions, one cut=invalid lap...

@KjellKoden i still have a problem with warning guys. It's like a start a race knowing I am allowed to cut 2 times without consequences.

No, what you know is that you CAN'T cut in a race, that will force people drive correctly, if you cut those 2 times you know you're gonna lose some good amount of time, your brain will know it's only in emergency situations and you can't just waste those warnings in stupid moves...

  12. My "three cuts and a Stop/Go penalty" comment was just an example. We need to refine a system like this for different race lengths. However, I stand by my comment that innocent drivers should not be punished. I have always stated that I would prefer to see a cutter win a race than see innocent drivers given penalties for avoiding idiots, or making slight mistakes. Persistent cutters can be banned with proper server admin controls, so it isn't even an issue.

Precisely, rules are needed to avoid idiots or drive like an idiot, if those idiots don't respect blue flag for example they'll be punished, if overtake during yellow flag they're punished, exceed pit limit speed they're punished, drive wrong way they're disqualified, reverse on pits they're disqualified, etçª, this is just to stop people behave like... idiots  so that good drivers can race normally! And racing rules are universal so everybody can learn them easy with a basic tutorial or something... anyway we should have the possibility to turn them off...

    I totally agree.
We need something easy and not abusable for comparing times also. Not just for friendly races.

And not something where you can cut 2 times and get away with it, that can mean winning or losing a race, so please...

I understand that Michael, but there are many people that do simracing for years and don't know the rules, sometimes looking at them you have ideas ;)
