1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Let me put it this way, I don't trust Epic Games the same way I do Valve and I don't feel comfortable moving from Steam and/or change it for their store, hence why I will never buy a game on their platform.

  5. The Epic store seems to be a good choise from a dev point of view.
But maybe the wrong user base atm.

Been using Steam for many years, I "licensed" a lot games on that platform, it works quite reliably and it offers a good feature set for those that want to use it (community, workshop, market, etc.). GoG - DRM-free and with many older titles released to work on modern systems - is also pretty good and perhaps an exception. But beyond that I'm not too keen on other stores and game launchers. Origin at least has good customer service, some good features, a reliable/fast launcher service and in the past free games (or now that subscription service for those that want something similar to consoles) going for it. Uplay isn't great but has that points system with unlocks and discounts going for it. Discord at least isn't just a games store. What does Epic offer me? Some exclusives (like Journey that I probably end up getting if it's not offered elsewhere) and the access to the engine development side built right in. But exclusives inherently aren't a good thing and I'd keep development separate from my gaming client. Epic Games has some work ahead of them if they want to make a competitor to Steam.

If Kunos/505 can offer the game on the Epic Games store also they would get some more exposure, sales and higher cut of those sales but if that comes with the condition to not offer the game elsewhere (as it seems to be the case judging by the indie devs that moved their games from Steam to the Epic Games store) or similar restrictions that's just a bad deal all around IMHO.

Would be silly to move exclusively away from steam. If the other platform didnt cost more in dev time then it generated in extra revenue then why not.

But exclusive to steam vs exclusive to epic it would be hard to see how they would generate more profit even with better margins as steam is the PC game base with most users. If the net profit was similar but smaller user base on epic its the users that would lose. For mp with matchmaking the bigger the user base the better experiance for all.

So if the other service if used with steam and generated new customers avoiding steam it would be good for all.

Steam is great but having competition will only ever make the both platforms better for us.

Why not have both? Kunos never bothered intergrating steam into AC1 (i.e. join/invite friends, servers) so I’m struggling to see any benefits keeping it an exclusive.

My guess is they will offer it on the Epic Games store also, once the game is out of Steam Early Access.
