1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Huh, they are? I got the impression that compared to AC the windscreens seem too clean. There's no dust from what I can see.

Yeah, in AC some cars had really dirty windshields though. I hate dirty windshields, my daily shopper I have a water and dust repellent coating, and I clean it every time it gets a bit dusty/dirty.

With that said, I have no idea if the real GT3 cars have windshield cleaner fluids so that they can use it to clean them during the race? But if they have it would be nice to have that in the game too. I also saw that the pit crew cleans the windshield when they get into the pits, that would be nice to have too.

But these would probably be the last things on my wish-list if I had one.

One of the most impresive effect when I played iracing first time was the acumulative dust in the windshield I'd like a feature like that in ACC and could be cleaned in the pitbox.

For the most part, the WS debris is most noticeable under certain lighting conditions, as it should be imo; sun-glare is particularly troublesome in RL too and the racing environment presents all sorts of contaminants. No doubt, it's one of the many challenges that drivers have to manage - especially under adverse conditions.

Ideally, a cumulative building effect for debris would be ideal with pit-stops resulting in a cleaned WS. I imagine it's more a matter of how far Kunos wants to push the details relative to the available resources. Of course, some will prefer something different, like a perfectly clear view; so being able to switch off WS-debris may be preferred by some.

I like dirt on the windscreens in games, adds immersion for me. Also helps to tell that there actually is a windscreen. Always liked dirty screens in AC, and there always were people with crystal clear windscreen OCD :D I like when windscreen gets very bright (not too much, realistically of course) when you drive towards sun. As it is in real life, you also get blinded and your exposure mess up, but not perfectly clear windscreen is necessary to compensate for blinding brightness effect...

I wonder will there be a thread aimed against balloons if ACC will introduce them. Or if anyone has some weird hate towards fireworks, or something like that :D

Dynamic dirt build-up (getting dirtier the more you drive, more if you drive behind someone, cleaned a bit during rain and more/completely during pitstop) would certainly help satisfy both sides of the too dirty/too clean argument, aside from simply being more immersive and realistic for endurance racing. The car in general is getting dirtier over time and should look the part. But it'd no doubt be a lower priority feature for Kunos.

I at least don't see realism and immersion as an argument for dirty windows if he isn't there to wash the dirt away. Or wipers and fluid.

As far as I can see "dirty" is very abstract word here.

I have trouble seeing out screen because of the reflection of the interior, see the thing is IRL your eyes would focus through said artefacts on the screen.
Can't seem to do that in game.

That's one thing, another thing is that in RL I put on my polarized sun-glasses and most of those reflections are gone :)

I think they use tear off windscreen covers which they wipe until wiping isn't helping anymore. Don't know how many layers are available though.
