1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

  3. Are you just trolling or were you actually serious?.

Cause if serious, i would like to hear your opinion on why you think so.

  4. Having laserscanned tracks means we have more precise tracks, but the realism itself comes from the physics engine. And licenses bring nothing, besides the visual aspect.

Not difficult to understand...you can have laser scanned tracks and licenses but this will not assure a realistic sim. With laser scan and well done cars you can give to customers very precise models but to be realistic you need a lot of other stuff (like phisycs, ffb, etc etc) to works good to. Is the perfect mix of those elements plus the ability to transmit this to player throught the software and the hardware to made a game near to realistic.

AC is good at this but hey...is a "simulator"!!! So even if near to real will be always a simulation with pro and cons...

About licenses, if you haven't one you can reproduce shape and specs of a specific car but you don't have to use his brand...
Isi just chose this way, rF was and will be a sim focusing on car and tires physics, they can reproduce it without need of licenses, so you will be able to drive a Porsche even if they call it Porca.
You know this, them too and both will be happy of this.

  6. Some of you forget why we do this sim driving-racing,its for fun and enjoyment.

So with the above said you dont need laser scans and mm accuracy.Yes its a nice addition but if the physics engine clicks right then its fun aka LFS.

Of course we should embrace progress and try for as realistic as possible result but i think you catch my drift.... ;)

Michael and this skybird guy going to defend ac till death.nice.
You dont need a license to get realistic data from certain cars - you need it to get the name. And its so funny you guys defend these laserscanneded tracks at all when you have just a scripted track evolving and not a real road evolving type like isi has. Sorry i cant take these arguments serious.

Not sure why do you call ISI real road... because is crap. Ideal line is perfect and everything what is not ideal line is like ice... not even close to real life

its just semantics...literally, laser-scanned tracks & licenses both make a game more akin to reality than one without those, ie "more realistic". that doesnt in any way mean a like cars behavior on the equivalent track will be more realistic, ie "doesnt make it any more realistic".

  10. I had no idea that you could call up Ferrari and they will provide you with the data you want without asking for payment; Kunos must be stupid to give these manufactures money for nothing. You really think Pagani would have given Kunos the algorithms for the active aero on the Huayra if Kunos didn't have a license with them?

And yes, I would much rather have a laser scanned track with scripted grip gain than a non laser scanned version with an extremely exaggerated 'real road'. If you really think that tracks are ice slick in real life until a couple cars make a handful of laps then maybe it is you that is not to be taken serious. Real road is a good concept, and the throwing of marbles is really cool, but I haven't seen a real life race yet that has cars running 10 seconds faster at the end of a practice than at the beginning.

Going back to the OP, actually ISI does have an official license for Gen 6 NASCAR.

  12. Source?
How can they have an official license with Nascar but not with Chevrolet, Ford, or Toyota? Why do they call it the SCRS Champions series if they have a license with Nascar?

How does a user report an issue on an unlicensed car? If you say "the real Porsche 991 GT3 has a track 10cm wider" the dev will just be like ?????? this is not a Porsche.

Having license doesnt automatically mean that manufacturers will give the required data. As Stefano mentioned some time ago sometimes manufacturers aren't cooperative or don't have the data themselves.

  15. Not having a license is a guarantee that the manufacturers won't give you the required data.

Which doesn't mean one didn't get the data in other ways. But in the end licenses are step closer to having the data.

    @Michael Hornbuckle , @Stereo
I can answer to yours last questions since I had same questions for Reiza dev team.
    They confirmed me that:

    - you can have a car with same shapes and specs of real one without need of license, just don't use the real name

    - don't need to buy specs data, most of the data, if car is well know, will be found by other sources

    - when you talks on the forums you usually use in game car brand, you can read "the Porca should be 10cm wider" and devs will understand.

Gen6 Nascar could be possible (if confirmed of course). They don't buy a brand (like chevy etc etc) but fixed specification/limitations/rules for car category. Like F1, you have fixed measures, horse power, tires etc etc same for Nascar, so basically they build their cars from Gen6 Nascar rules and specifications.

As already said by this way isi will give us a generic no brand gen6 nascar car set wich will drive as gen6 nascar cars (without specific differences between models based on real life), AC will give that X car with precise models/data and will be more accurate.

Both ways are good, but you can't mix them.

If the car is well known is imporant factor. Licenses must be the reason why Kunos is able to model relatively new supercars like Ferrari, Mclaren and etc. While older racing cars are more generic, simplier and well known (there are many engineers working on the cars outside of the manufacturer). Such cars are majority of what you get in isi/reiza titles.

fwiw, ISI doesnt have any kind of nascar license, or if they do, theyre choosing to hide it, & very well too. no idea where that claim comes from.

but yeah if someone says [objective measurement of real car] on [games fictional car based on that car] car is wrong, that could be sorted with an email or two, using old connections or new ones made when the car was being built. licenses are cool, but they dont make or break a sim for me.
