We organize a 24h event on the NOS (Endurance Version). Of course without day-night/weather change and driver change, but hey, it's a 24h event!


Information about our race-community:

We are "Schwarzbierbude.de" (= engl. Black Beer Hut), a german racing-community known for fair-racing, mod-autoupdaters, teamspeak, weekly events, statistics and more!
Our website opened on november 11th 2014 as a part of the "bierbuden.de" (= engl. Beer Huts) which include other huts for race-sims like Race07, GTR2, rFactor 1&2 and GTLegends.
The Schwarzbierbude gets about 60.000 klicks per month and is a home for over 2500 registered race-drivers.

How does it work?

The event will be splitted into 15min qualifyings and 100 lap races.
You are allowed to enter and leave the race whenever you want, but watch out for the blue flags!
Like in the a real 24h-race on the NOS, the important thing that counts, is the amount of driven kilometers on the track. After the event, there are going to be some statistics about all players, who took part in the event.


When?

We start at 3pm (CEST) on saturday 16th and we are going to finish the event 24 hours later at 3pm (CEST) on sunday 17th. We also plan to do two 2h-race events on the evening of the first day (Saturday) and on the end of the event on the second day (Sunday). The 2 events will get an extra post in this thread.

Our planned schedule (all times in CEST):

3pm: Start of the event with 15min quali and 100 lap race periods
8.45pm - 9pm: (Qualifying) Time to join the servers for the first 2h race
9pm - 11pm: First 2h Race
11pm (Saturday) - 12.45pm (Sunday): 15min quali and 100 laps race periods
12.45pm - 1pm: (Qualifying) Time to join the servers for the second 2h race
1pm - 3pm: Second 2h Race / End of the event


When do i have to drive?

You can drive, whenever you want. The servers are in pickup-mode, so you can take any car you like (at least the cars, which nobody didn't take already). You also can leave the servers, whenever you like, we don't force anybody to stay on the server.


How can i take part?

- Sign up at schwarzbierbude.de
- If you want, download our mod-autoupdater (you don't need to; it keeps all mods we have up-to-date)
- Join servers when the event begins


A rule everyone has to accept: If you kick the driver infront of you out of the track, say sorry in the chat (app), and let him pass.

The password for the event shows up over the gameserver-list on the right side of our website.
To find our servers, type in "schwarz" into the serverfilter.

I suppose in the real race the determining factor is distance covered in 24h by a car. Where a car can have 2-4 drivers. Is it the same here? As in it's not an individual race but a car/team race and one has to enter 2-4 drivers per car?
Winners are thus announced per car/team and not per driver.

While I understand why it is segmented into parts, AC doesn't have driver swapping. Is it truly only an individual race or a car/team race? Not interested in the first, that's just madness, if it's a team race then might consider as once could do stints and swap by disconnecting from pits or by session end.
Having short sessions only 40min? Will also mean many laps will be lost, unless every driver will have to have some of your special tracker that will record their cars distance covered irrelevant of lap count.

Is there a tracker that will fairly record the distance or if the session ends 10s before I cross the finish line that 9min lap and 25km are lost?

I find the sessions quite short, only cca 40min Q, then cca 37min race/4 laps. That's like nothing, why not set time to 8:00 and put a practice/Q up with some serious time? Like 3-6h. Or even just do two, have the AC time progress all the way from morning to evening. What made you split it up into 30 sessions + 2x 2h race? That's hell a lot of sessions.

40min session = 4 laps with DTM, no chance to make 5 laps, so after 4 laps if there is no distance tracker one can just disconnect either break/rest or try to find some other server that has more time left? Weird.

 

1. We don't have teams for this event because it's our first 24h event and we want to see how our users like it. We also received suggstion for a race with teams, but we won't do that this time.

2. Yes, the loose of kilometers is unfortuneately a thing we couldn't fix. It's still Kunos' job to get the game working.

3. We splitted up our event, so nobody has to wait for the next race or qualifying all the time. We also want to allow our users to take a break or to get another car. Of course a user could switch to another server, but in the end it doesn't really make a difference.

 

Recent change:

15 min. qualification and 100 lap race! You are allowed to leave and enter the race whenever you want, just watch out for the blue flags.

 

1) Teams are always the go with endurance events Swap drivers when tyres/fuel are consumed.
2) Would need to use a tracker, maybe S/Ptracker would work for it, haven't tried it myself yet though. It still would be a lot of counting from all the sessions on all servers if you will run a lot of them.
3) It's now changed a lot to 15min Q, which practically means no Q at least not with DTM that takes over 9min a lap, especially in AC that doesn't allow the GP shortcut during outlap. The GP shortcut cannot be used during Q can it? Again would need a tracker IMHO to create the Q results instead of AC to make the shortcut work. So 15min Q will practically be a warm up of 1.5laps.
100laps + 15min Q that's roughly 16h total. The servers are going to run uninterrupted or will they be interrupted and set for the 2h races?

Might join for at least one 2h race if I don't forget, that should be around 12 laps with a pitstop or two.

E30 DTM has only 70 liters fuel tank where as MB and Alfa have 110 liters in the same DTM class. Are they equalized in distance covered, as in MB and Alfa consume way more fuel or did Kunos give to E30 DTM a puny fuel tank again?

I'm not sure the hard tyres on DTM actually last beyond the 4 laps that E30 DTM can do with its fuel tank but MB and Alfa could potentially cover 6 laps before needing a refuel :/ That's quite a last nail to a coffin for E30 DTM in endurance compared to MB and Alfa. Not only it is the hardest to drive fast from DTMs, maybe even least powerful, but also suffers from puny fuel tank. During a 2h race E30 DTM would have to refuel 2 times, other DTMs only once if the hard tyres last 6 laps. Or do the hard tyres give out big time after 4 laps?

Might want to urge Kunos to equalize the fuel tanks among DTM cars.

Yeah one more question, realism, what will the realism settings be? Damage, penalties, ABS, TC, SC, fuel consump., tyre wear, ...
If damage is on, what happens when one destroys the car beyond repair? Can reconnect I suppose but what happens to the distance covered when one reconnects?
I'm really curious how are you going to count it, as for such an event it's not probably trivial without a tracker. The distance will be counted from laps finished I guess, that will be reported somewhere in server logs? Sure a script on those logs could count it all up.

 

1) Sadly the Game doesn't supports driver swaps yet.
2) GP Cut can not be used.
There is no need for a Quali result.
After the Server has finished the 100 lap Race the Server will go into Quali and then 100 laps again. The Server will run further till 3 p.m..

The more stops from the BMW doesn't matter. The race is all about "who can Drive 24h!?". Not all will drive the complete 24 hours.

Damage: 80% I think.
TC/ABS: factory
Tire/fuel: normal
Penalty: on

If you crash your car, drive to the pits and repair it. If it's irrepairable, ESC, Back to Pits.
You can disconnect and reconnect on any Time you want.
Every finished lap will directly be count in a Tool. In this Tool you can see your place in real time from all Servers together.

 

We are aware of the problems with the E30 DTMs, that's sadly an annyoing thing that also affects our DTM series. As a result, the chances won't be equal for all DTM drivers, but we also don't want to race just with the Mercedes and the Alfa.

To the other questons:

Damage: Will be set on (i think) 80% (or 50% becuase it's a NOS event)
Penalties: 3 tires out / penalty
ABS, TC, SC: Factory setting
Fuel Consumption, Tyre wear: 1x (I don't think we need more for this event)

The servers will be interrupted to set them up for the 2h events.

We have a script transfering information about the driven kilomters / cars etc. to our live-gameserverlist and into our database. After you finsihed the a lap, the kilomteres get counted. With the data collected we then can create an analysis at the end of the event.

The non standard cars are in the SBB updater I bet.

Might take E30 DTM for a spin in the 2h races, try other cars in the open session. I suppose we don't have to stick to one car. Does the distance sum up no matter what car we use (say 250km total) or if we drive different class cars we will end up with lets say distance driven: 100km DTM, 150km GT3? Or even per individual car? Sorry I'm a statistics nut Always interested in the numbers.

 

Yes, you can get all non standart car in our Updater.

All kilometers from all cars you had driven will be count together. But if you will win in a Class you should drive only one car.^^

 

There is no registration/sing up for the event? So the cars and slots on server available will be random?

 

You have to register on our Website, but for the Event itself there is no registration.
Servers have 24 slots and the different classes are on different server but some classes are mixed up on one server.

May I say it? What a stupid idea to do this at the same time as the actual thing.

 

Some like that idea, some don't.

 

But if you don´t do it at the same time you don´t have the spirit while driving.
You drive and watch the real race at your second Screen or on your mobile phone. That´s a great experience!

 

Because some of our users wished to have teams, we added them!

At the end of the event, the driven kilometers of all members of a team will be added up.

You can change your teamname by klicking on your profile, klicking on your "Edit" "Update your profile" and after that on "Contact info". In the field "Assetto Corsa Teamname:" you can choose your name.

Maxium per team are 4 drivers!
