1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Most of the old tracks are ok apart from Nurburgring which is horrible and very varied on the fps as you drive around, but yes the new tracks do seem to give a slighty better performance.

If they redo the tracks, I wouldn't mind more pit slots for AI in Single Player...

I'm not sure, for some reason Bathurst and Kyalami do not quite visually capture me as much as for example Spa. Could there be fewer detail, explaining better FPS? Or maybe it's because of the steeper sunangle and smaller shadows (wider shadows tend to cause lower FPS in my experience...)

Here is the json. But honestly, AMD cards underperform in ACC, so if it is just about ACC, you're probably better off with your 2060.

Don’t think that would be that much of an upgrade in anything would it? 15-20% max?

I would strongly advise waiting for Nvidia’s new cards in the next few months

Thanks will try your settings and compare. My 2060 is to slow since I changed monitors. Read something about the 5700 series underperforming in ACC. Only other option is a 2070S but I think it is to expensive.

@Serge M 30% would be better. Think that is the difference in other games.

I had to completely disable resolution scale and I do not like the iq now.

I run an RX 5700XT with triple 1080p monitors (so 5760x1080). On max detail and resolution It struggles to maintain 40 fps. But on the start pages (cars on grid) it runs around 90 fps. I currently have a lot of details turned down, and resolution scaling at 85% and I consistently run around 70fps. I would say if you're running a single 1080p screen you shouldn't have a problem running around 80fps even with the details turned up. In the old AC, PCars2, Dirt Rally it has no problem running 90-100fps on the triple screens at max detail. Its really just ACC that doesn't love AMD cards.

I agree with the above assessment that you're better off with a Nvidia card. I'd consider a 2070S if I were you, more of an upgrade over your current 2060 than the 5700XT would be, specifically in this game.

Hmmm that doesn't sound good. Running 3440x1440 resolution scale 100% almost everything at high and epic. Running at 70+fps when doing 20+ cars AI races. Even tested Spa with 49 AI and only drops a tad below 60fps at some parts of the circuit.

The 5700XT will be little to no improvement on that.

I wonder who is to blame for this, since the difference is quite big. Is it Kunos, the Unreal engine or AMD drivers? I think it is silly. ;)

At the moment though all is fine since I am running a 1080p 60hz monitor, overclocked to 70hz. I use V-sync (there is no Freesync), the 5700 pumps out 70 fps on epic/high with ease. I must say, I am aware that there is supposed to be some input lag with V-sync, but don't really notice it. To my (old) eyes, with V-sync on at 70 fps everything seems very smooth, more so than any other option. However, in the summer I am looking to upgrade my monitor, maybe a 1080p ultrawide, or, more likely, a 1440p monitor. But I am worried that the 5700 can't really handle 1440p in ACC (it can in many other titles).

I read somewhere that high refresh rates are less important in simracing than in fast shooters (which I don't play, I get killed every 10 seconds). Hope this is true. :)

I run 3 144hz 1080p curved monitors with freesync so everything is ultra smooth for me at 70 fps with details down. The 5700 may be ok at 1440p if you turn some details down like I did. Its not the drivers or Unreal, its Kunos. There are other Unreal based games that don't have the performance issues of this game. I have another slightly older system I use for gaming alone with a Vega 64 which is slower than the 5700XT on a 3440x1440 ultrawide and maxes out other Unreal based games at 90-100fps. So its not the game engine thats the issue. Kunos both needs to optimize it for AMD, and possibly submit some optimizations to AMD to include in the driver.

I agree high refresh isn't as important in a sim racer, (unless you're doing VR, to avoid nausea), the input lag from Freesync is almost nonexistent and won't affect you either its so tiny. Sim racing is not fast twitch like a shooter.

Your info and, it has to be said, the Corona virus which forces me to stay home alot, have made me make the decision to buy a new monitor, a 34" ultrawide 3440x1440 at 100hz. The RX 5700 can handle this in ACC, but I wanted some more FPS, so after some adjusting of settings, but not too much actually, I got high 60 at start, then going up to the 70's and 80's. Then I used Trixx Boosst at 85%, really cannot tell the difference in image quality, or very little, gave me another 10 to 15 FPS. So now at the start, back or middle of the grid, it starts in the (high) 70's, going up in the race to somewhere between 80 or 90 or above; on some tracks it goes higer than 100, so I capped the FPS at 97, which means it is always in Freesync range.

In other games like Projectcars2 and Rainbow Six, it is easy to go way over 100, so it stays in my situation on a steady 97.

I am pretty pleased with my purchase, relieved to find that I can play ACC smoothly with big advantages over my old 24" 1080p 60hz (clocked to 70hz) monitor. Bigger, wider, higher resolution and higher FPS/hz. And less input lag because I don't use V-sync anymore. The 'immersion' is just much more there, I'm more 'in the car'. Maybe not as much as your 3 screen setup, but still pretty good. I do have to get used to the new FOV which I set, but that is a matter of time.

This game isn't half bad, even with an AMD videocard. ;-)
