1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Ac is great when played casually

Thanks AC and KS for making a good game!

I've enjoyed playing AC even though I am playing on a MacBook Retina HD (with Boot Camp to run Windows) and using keyboard controls. I personally prefer to play games casually in the most relaxed form, usually running on lower settings to maintain smooth frame rates. I understand how AC is a simulation racer where it is best experienced with a gaming spec desktop computer and a racing wheel, but I am not in the position to invest in these peripherals. However playing AC like this still passes, and it is a joy to go on free runs. I personally love the Trento-Bondone hill climb (and other similar track mods) and these tracks, while usually narrow, can still be traversed with a keyboard.

Thank you once again AC and KS for making keyboard players experience your fantastic product.

Glad you are liking it, posts like that make the implementation of keyboard control in the game worth it :). Although if you ever have a chance, try AC on a gamepad at least. Analog controls of pedals and steering is a real gamechanger.

I actually started out AC this way too. I couldnt get my old Logitech Wingman Force nor my ActLab RS to work under Windows 8, so I had to use the keyboard as controller at first.

I was convinced enough later on to buy a Logitech G27 though :) But I still use keyboard sometimes (offline!!) for a quick and dirty "oh, I wanna try that"-job...

A hint : try mouse for steering and keyboard for throttle/brakes. You will surprised how much better you'll drive.

Glad to hear that you hav fun driving, even with a keyboard only.
To be honest I never have done mouse/keydriving AC before, but now I must try it too.

The tip from @liakjim with the mouse (or touch on your macbook) is worth testing too.
    Good luck

I would add that using a gamepad is a big step forward to really enjoy AC physics.
Its actually pretty fun and enjoyable even on pro settings with all assists off.

Thats how I play quite often.
Dont expects to be very competetive in online sessions tho :)

    Cheers.

Would be funny, a keyboard only online race.

  10. There was a time when I used a joystick to drive cars on my PC. I used a CH Flightstick (offline) for my first two years with GT Legends, and then I discovered the joys of racing online. Fortunately, my brother got me a basic Saitek R220 wheel at that time (no gear shifter, and a limited 200 degree rotation), and I have never looked back. I upgraded to a Logitech G25 two or three years later, and then recently switched to a G27 when my second G25 (a complete free replacement for the first one when the gear shifter stopped working) failed a few months ago.

I remember when one day a decided to use the joypad just to see how AC is "driveable" and even if I could attempt the same lap time like I have with my wheel, well.. I was "scared" how I was close to my time with the wheel so If I couldn't afford to buy a wheel of course my choice for sure end up with a controller ;)
