1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Was also doing some free race in the RS Escort and the Easy AI were setting the same times as alien thats the point.

ok i believe you, i haven't tried (i'm on pc), but what are the MBK72's screenshots i have quoted supposed to demonstrate?

Many of you guys liked it as proof/evidence , so i'm confused...

The difficulty of each individual race can vary, some early races where the E30 step 1 is simply handling upgrades racing against E92 M3 and 1M seems a bit far fetched/overly hard for easy especially when on easy they are still quite the challenge to experienced wheel users. I'm really not sure if somewhere along the lines of sorting out the PC version we got a different AI to what is meant to match the current version of the game or that some aspects of the game haven't carried over to the console. One way or the other it makes no sense that some races are VERY EASY like you say yet races in the same series are extremely hard without perfect driving and the AI pit bug for most. I'm well into the career, having just unlocked the hypercar series and can confidently say even some of the one make races require a lot of concentration on the easiest setting. What I found most odd though is the AI cornering speed: most corners of most tracks they are quite quick and smooth but there are some corners they seem to take much slower, it almost seems like their whole pace changes to a much lower level, hence my feeling something is messed up about them.

Lets not kid ourselves here.. its not a simulation, far from it. BTW, during that video session I didn't move on the start .. AI car stopped behind me, and some 10 seconds later it disappeared. Apparently UFO's snatching racers is also simulated.

Where do you get the term 'driving simulator' from?

From the console version marketing AC (capitalisation courtesy of the marketing team too): UPS THE SIMULATION STAKES WITH A FANATICAL FOCUS ON PURE DRIVING REALISM, WITH LASER-FOCUSED ACCURACY ACROSS EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME FROM THE METICULOUS CAR HANDLING TO THE LASER-MEASURED TRACKS.

So meticulous accuracy except the crashes then? So not every aspect of the game then? I'm looking forward to how you justify the lack of track limits (don't cut the track...lol).

Same question as to all the other pc players that appear in AC defence mode. have you actually played the console version?

Thank you for clarificating. And I am sorry I did not mean the attached video would solely indicate its not a proper driving simulator, that was just one point. When I said 'far from it' I should have added that anyone who has ever driven anything but bicycle knows this is not the way cars behave, not that I have ever driven a ferrari I must admit.

Perhaps, on the planet the racer was snatched into.. but not on earth ;-)

Ok, so you don't like AC. I have no problem with that. But I have driven a lot of cars in my life, I have driven a lot of Karts and played a lot of Sims, so let me tell you something: The modern sims like AC are (with the right hardware and settings) brutally realistic to drive! AC has weak points for sure but their FFB and their driving-physics are pretty much the best you can get atm.
I'm sorry, but If you don't feel that way, you're just ignorant or a really terrible driver.

(Aris from Kunos drives an Aventador on the track)

He should have crashed that Aventador and do a few flips in the air, so we would see the fundamental flaws in this game compared to reality.

I never said I don't *like* AC, if that were the case I would have ditched the game and moved back to play GT6, I would hope to see an update fixing stuff people have reported. My very first post on this very forum I told I was a bit disappointed how beta stage the game felt in general, and also gave my of list of things which I think needs fixing. AI difficulty balancing on some tracks being totally off is one, thats why this thread (and others) were born (I have come across two races for now)

I do not get this "point a flaw and get bashed as a ****ty driver" attitude on forums, or as a bonus this time an ignorant as well. I would imagine EVERYONE who bought the game would like it to be updated and be the best driving game on the market. I have played through every single Turismo since 1998 which must be what AC needs to be compated against.. I think I have pretty good knowledge of how the game and car should feel, and as it is now, AC is at most comparing to GT5 or the non-updated GT6 from 2014.

I havent't lost hope and I am sure many important things will be corrected on next update.

Then you also must know their tires are made of rubber, not soap unlike many cases in AC. Definetely on my list of things to get fixed, and on others list too, I read.

  11. There is nothing to "fix" on tyres.. if you are waiting for that you are literally wasting your time. I strongly suggest you to look for another game because if there is one thing that we're happy about is tyres.

I'm sorry but I can't understand your points. Do you really compare AC with GT? GT is not even in the same league physics-wise!

And no, I never felt AC lacks of general grip. Personally I don't even drive on "optimum" track grip.

What sim-hardware do you use? Maybe that's the reason why you are disapointed?

I sold my copy after one week from release.
Now after few updates, how's the AI, is it fixed?

  14. The Hooligan

    The Hooligan Rookie

I am not waiting for this, I felt the tyres were quite soapy in the beginning of the game with slower cars and that part of the game is long gone, no complaints with intermediate cars.

About grip, please see my earlier comment to Lord Kunos. Not a big problem. If by sim-hardware you mean what platform I am playing on, PS4 and with Thrustmaster T150 RS EU.

I am not really comparing the games as driving games itself but the sold product as they are/were released. This version of AC seems to be still suffering from several issues and according to posts I have read its been common knowledge for quite some time, some issues are less important and some more important. The same was with GT6 .. it wasn't even nearly a finished product when it was released but after 20 or so updates its actually pretty much fun. The same could happen to AC and hopefully will, that won't certainly happen if no input is taken from the community. And when I say community I *definetely not* mean myself.. a lot of the issues bothering me have been mentioned on forums long time ago.

Fully agree with your comments on the PC version, incredibly realistic in terms of feel and car handling. You did realise this is the console forum though yes?

The console version has much of the same handling prowess but is hampered by many problems which I won't repeat here.

  17. MBK72

    MBK72 Hardcore Simmer

No, the AI are still erratic, sometimes suicidal and not a patch on the latest pc versions. There is plenty of DLC you can buy now though. Priorities eh?

First this, then you go all defensive...

The only point you brought up was a soapy tire feeling, without much elaboration I might add. Probably you just didn't heat them up properly. It takes a while to build some heat, which is important for optimum grip levels.

If you feel to drop a bomb like that, pls feel free to give some valid information to it.
And pls refrain to compare AC to GT, it won't help your reputation nor your point.

    Have a nice day...

What about the SAT and caster effect on the tires ? In the console current build at least, it's lacking. Try this on console PS4, Do a burnout with RWD car, steer to full lock into the direction of burnout then let go off the wheel, the wheel do not move at all, there's no self centering.

An impression from a mate who have a wheel to test AC on PS4 ( he had track day experiences )
"Many of the cars I've noticed the wheel doesn't self-centre, or only does when loaded up, and once the wheel is close to centre, it goes slack again. You can pull the handbrake to kick the back-end out, let go of the wheel, and it will barely move at all, drifting would require guiding the wheel almost 100% of the time, and most likely turning the FFB either well down, or off completely, as the wheel goes quite heavy when you're counter steering in some cars, which would make drifting problematic."

What do you think about AC tire deformation ? especially on lower pressure region, visually and its effect on wear and grip ? How well AC simulate the camber curve and caster vs camber relationship ? Try to drive the FD3S RX7, set rear tire pressure differently between left and right, about 30% difference, eg 20 psi left and 30 psi right, how well do you think the resulting effect simulated ( tire and rear Torsen LSD TBR reaction ) compared to what the real RX7 would do when driven ? Oh, might as well do burnout test, steer to full lock and let go.

I really wish to look for improvement on all aspect of the physics, I have been long waiting for a game to surpass the old ones that I played a lot ( LFS and RF )

BTW, does the cars in AC simulate different LSD like what fitted on the real car ? For example, the MX5 ND has unique GKN/TFS Super LSD ( Torsen ) with low TBR and preload. I wish the player could see the stock LSD setup even if it's not adjustable.

If there is someone defensive its certain game fans, and especially ones who are on pc and not played the console port.

But the tyre issue, my bad, my first post was on a similar thread.. but never the less a different one:
    https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...ries-e30-m3-ring-sprint-gt.35852/#post-789323

"physics for tires.. they are like soap. 40kmh speed and wheel turned hard left or right the car just keeps sliding forwards, especially the slow cars in the beginning of the game"

I did not join the forum to earn reputation, couldn't give a flying f*ck what people think of me. I came to find an answer to a problem/bug/flawed game design and google brought me a certain thread which was started aug 28. and the problem still exists nov 22. And I do agree with you, its not fair to compare AC to GT .. GT is pretty much bug free game these days and AC is bug infested.

So far on GT I have never experienced a qualification where AI racers stay on pits the whole session:

nor bothered to drive at all in race itself:

tyre issue is smallest one on a long list of things to fix my friend, long list.
