Assetto Corsa on ps4/x1

Hi all,
I would like to know if a porting of AC on next-gen console is planned. Thanks

 

The idea has been toyed with for something the team can think about in the future but that is as far as it has gotten.

 

Considering they are working hard on the controller support I guess it's a safe bet if I expect them to release the game on consoles once all the additional content is finished, so that the console version will have all the cars and tracks in order to have a better stand against the other games out there.

 

My thinking would be that the physics and graphics would have to be dialed back because of the already dated tech they put in their 'next gen' consoles. How much I'm not sure but say it was on par with Forza/GT they wouldn't really be able to compete without the number of licenses that those IP's have

Only xbone is kinda weak.
Ps4 performance is okay, but can increase due some things they mentioned on websites..
If kunos can make more money and dont change their game to arcade, i am fine with it.
I stay anyway with the pc

If I was Kunos I wouldn't want to invest too much in console success. The console market has little in the way of proper sims, there doesn't seem to be much of a market for them. Maybe the consoles are crying out for a proper sim like AC, if AC get's enough praise from the PC community it might create enough of a buzz to get a good release, it wouldn't be the first time a PC game crossed over and changed the console market forever more.

 

They still have ton of work with PC version. And There really isn't sim community on consoles.

 

I tend to disagree with the last part.

It may not be about sim racers who want to have regular league races but the game certainly makes up for a blast in extraordinary cars.

So as soon as the AI is on the expected level there is no reason not to release AC for consoles - once all other things for the PC version have been settled that is of course.

 

Console porting doesn't really sit well with the open PC architecture though. Once the mod scene gets going I can't see a vanilla console port being that attractive, but I could be wrong.

 

No! No! and NO! Leave consoles out of this, let the developers make this game good and make it count for PC, instead of splitting 3 ways trying to make it run on consoles...and possibly degrading the overall quality of the game.

 

For me it's okay if game is released far future to the consoles, but i think PC and Console multiplayers maybe should different. Consoles don't have mods (easily at least?) so there would be so much differences. But i am open to consoles too. Why not?
