1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

PHYSICS Brake ducts and Tyre damage

In the change log it says that tyres degradation and track abrasivity have been changed: now we have more or less degradation?

    it's different for every track.
At some point, at the first beta 1.0.7 release, the tyre degradation went way up in comparison to 1.0.6
Now it's not only corrected by I took the opportunity to recheck everything and have even closer to reality values.
So for example, Misano doesn't consume much the tyres, while Barcelona destroys them.

@Aristotelis what about the correct temperature range fro brakes, 500-900 is it correct?

Ah no,those are steel brakes so a more generic 300 to 700°C for the fronts and 300 to 600°C for the rears, at least until we implement different brake pads.
Over those temperatures, brake fade starts to occur... at over 800°C you start having big issues

@Aristotelis Hi! Yesterday we have small fan race on Lambo ST, and nearly half or drivers has some tyre problems after 5-6 laps. It was so slippery, like in rain. If i'm not mistaken, now everybody has 1.0.7, and tyres are the same for all. How to understand, what was that, if it depends on driver style, and how to control this phenomenon?

We are off topic here and the information given is not enough to understand. You sure it didn't rained a bit? A rubbered track with some rain can be very slippery on the racing line.

No the track was optimum, the half of drivers were fine, and the other were struggling for grip and lost over 2 seconds per lap. Is it graining or something else?

Ok, sorry for offtop. Would you be so kind and give me a link on this info?

  8. If brake temperature is disabled, the brake ducts setting has no effect?

@Aristotelis . I have a question about tires conditions and how to get maximum from them. Now there is Mclaren Shadow event. I found that after 3 laps, my pace is getting worse and worse and the worst lap is usually 5 or 6. I did a lot of runs and always see this trend. Here is my best attempt so far () and you can see my driving style. What am I doing wrong? I found the more I attack, the worse times I have after 3 laps. I see how I loose time on straigths even when I have the same exit from the corner. What is the reason from developers point of view? I suppose the reason is the tires, because fuel is getting lower. How should I drive to have tires in better conditions? Are there any tips? :) Just would like to see your point of view. Yeah, setup is default aggressive without any changes.

Nice driving, your rear left tyre is getting up at 100c, maybe this is causing the drop in performance. My rear left is the same.

Yeah, I also think about this. Cannot understand how to improve else :) want to see the laps of the guys, who run 11-47 on finish. Just interesting. If I do perfect laps I can have 11-50, or 11-49 high, but 11-47 is just unbelievable :)

One question? where can I see the temperature of the brakes ? Tnx

Guys, I'm not sure if this thread is exactly the right thread to ask this question in so please delete if so...

Quite often I'll see that my tyres are overheating across the whole contact patch, changing colour to a yellowish tint. While this is happening, the pressures still remain in a good range (27.5-28)

I'm a little lost with what I should be doing to stop this happening. Should I be lowering the pressures to give me more room for temperature increases or would the same thing still happen due to what is most probably poor driving technique?

Some yellow is fine. I would not lower your PSI as they are in the window.

What exactly is your tyre temps?
    What setup are you using?
    What car are you using?
    What is the track temp?
    What is the track?

    Thanks for the info :)

From memory, the tyre temps when yellow were
    105c and 28psi
    Aggressive setup
Nissan GTR but I seem to do this with all cars
    30c track temperature
    Silverstone

It's common for this yellowing colour to occur within 4 to 5 laps, at which point I find the car more difficult to keep on the track even though the tyre pressures are remaining quite constant.

My hunch is that it's my poor driving style causing a vicious circle. Tyres go yellow, car gets looser and I start to miss the apexes because I don't want to back off. The laptimes start getting worse and I eventually end up off the track :D

@EsxPaul - 105 is ok. Silverstone has some high energy corners.

Is it the left hand side tyres only?
what lap times are you doing?
Do you receive this on safe setup?

It's most often both of the rear tyres. I'm one of the more slow drivers out there and my average lap time would be in the 2:03s.

I've always used the aggressive setup against the AI and never paid attention to lap times or tyre temps until I realised how much slower than average I am. Since then I've been trying to push the car harder and getting frustrated as I can't find any improvement.

I've had some excellent help and advice from @n1lyn recently, where he kindly analysed and compared one of my laps against his. My problem is that I don't have the skill to put his tips into practice regarding my inputs.

If I'm honest, I'm driving whilst being angry with myself and trying to force the laptimes down in a different way to that which was advised.

Reading my post back, it might be time for me to calm down and take a break from it o_O

Ideas without seeing your driving (thanks for the kudos btw, but as long as you're not faster, we're not done here):
    - reduce camber by 1 or 2 clicks,
    - increase rear brake duct by 1
    - move brake bias forward a little
    - use higher tc to get less slip

is the car very oversteery? -> change Aero-Balance a little (~0.5%) more backward by lowering the rear ride height or more wing. only really do one or 2 clicks at a time. Aero changes are often quite severe.

or try playing with rear rollbar.

That's enough for a day of practice ;)

Remember: when u change anything that lowers rear tyre temperature, that will also decrease tyre pressure, so you will need to add something back after your changes.

Thanks for all the extra tips. That gives me some homework to be getting on with and I will give all of the above a try :)
