Car Decision/Selection

Kind of curious, what do you guys think the lap time deference is between an uncompetitive and competitive car at say Silverstone or Suzuka?

 

Note that they (CDA) already mentioned that that spreadsheet needs updating as they already have new times, and i.e. Audi fair better than mentioned there.
Still should be a good indicative of current car pace.

Nonetheless i usually take this with a grain of salt as they are times done by guys in the top 1% spectrum of drivers, and might not apply to the average Joe (in terms of competitiveness between cars).

 

Have seen that a few times, gives an OK indication but I wouldn’t put money on that order of car pace. The point of my question was more a curiosity of what people here perceive the difference to be between what they think are fastest and slowest times. The reality is that for most cars there’s less then a few tenths in it.

For reference in our last league race on Monday at Hungaroring I ran a 43.6 in quali in the Audi, pole was a 42.2 from a very fast guy in a 720. Not super sold that the Audi is the slowest at Monza either.

A good driver in the “slowest” car will always be faster then an average driver in the “fastest” car so I think people should really just pick what they enjoy driving and learn to race in that.

 

Not only that, but unless you're racing for something important (which 99,9% of players aren't), it's far more important to improve yourself as a driver than to gain time by picking the fastest car. That way, if you ever do race for a big prize let's say, you just pick the fastest car and you're all good.

 

Also if you are a fast ish driver in a slower car and you find yourself in the mid pack it’s a good opportunity to practice your race craft and also great fun

 

Guys, do you feel like the V12 Aston is any competitive right now? I love to drive it, but.. I don't know if it's me, that I am use to drive mid engine GT3, but I am not competitive in this car. What's your thoughts?
