1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

default setup of E30

    Hello Kunos people,

The default setup of E30 seems a bit off. Brake bias is +69. Firstly i thought i was a complete idiot by not being able to out-brake even BMW special event's(mugello) medium opponents. Even a light touch of brake would send the car in uncontrollable tail-spin.
Out of deadlock i resorted to going into car setup and changing brake bias from +69 to +72/3. Suddenly the car became controllable on brakes and i gained ~4sec per lap.

Therefore, could you please make default car setups more noob(like me) friendly?

Are you sure your brake pedal is correctly calibrated?

Never had problems with it. It's actually quite good being able to steer the rear while under braking.

It cannot be the stock E30. It has ABS even in pro mode and it will not spin under braking. The group A E30 is less forgiving due to the lack of ABS but the rear wheels will not lock with a slight touch on the brake pedal except if the pedal is decalibrated. Before you start a race or session, always push the brake pedal to the floor to avoid that.

It's not a matter of pedal calibration. It's how the car is set up by default (groupA, special events, BMW race, Mugello).
Checked via AC pedal input app. With +69 brake bias rear wheels lock up at a bit less than 1/2 brake applied. With +72 bias brake can be applied almost fully before rear wheels lock up.

Did you tried with a full fuel tank? The only thing missing for me ATM is the ability to change the brake bias on the fly because I want to change it for some corners or while the fuel tank is emptying.

Setups are a very personal thing. I always change the brake bias of practically all cars of all simulators a little bit more to the rear for example. If you don't like the default setup of that particular car, change it. What's the problem?

Let me guess, you drive with sequential stick or flappy paddles, and downshift the same way like you do on GT cars?

When using H-shifter, i start to get rear locked before the fronts with 67 or lower brake bias (rest of the setup default), and the 68 feels like the nice balance where all 4 wheels lock at the same time (thus the default 69 actuallay gives the "safe and stable" braking it should). The thing is i don't downshift until almost entering the turn. IDK how exactly these cars were run back in the 90's but, on G27 going from 5th gear to 1st in a matter of ~2s can be really messy, so maybe that's why the default setup is prepared for braking without downshifting, and then just skipping 4th, 3rd, and even sometimes 2nd, gear altogether.

If you do like downshifting early then the right thing to do is to shift brake balance. And just like 3316V said, its a very personal setting. Its impossible to create a default value that would work for everyone and every combination of hardware. And for what it is, i really like the default setup

Control your foot and you should be fine. You've no idea how many people mash the brakes and expect the car to behave. Would you behave if I mashed you in the face ???(pretty much what you do to the car when pressing the brake pedal too abruptly)

Racing cars brakes are made to be smashed :) (at least initially).

Anyway, the problem is probably the rears locking with the engine braking. So, Blip!!!!!!

Brake hard, blip while you down****, and release the brakes while turning in. In this video the brake bias is certainly below 70 (canĀ“t remember, but i rarely use above it), and it stills locks the front a lot!
