1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Fade out after SP session

After a SP race your car now is almost instantly teleported back to pits before fading out to race results, it's totally jarring and really annoying. Anyone know how can we adjust this back to pre-v1.6, where the race kept going for a while before fading out? Maybe by changing parameters on fades.ini?

  3. I am glad it was finally changed the way it should be...do you have any idea the distance a car travels at 150mph in the couple of seconds it took for fading out?...and let me tell its no fun to have no car control especially in a motion rig!

This also plagued online races. I'd prefer them to give you control of the car while fading out rather than what we have now. It is especially annoying when you're doing your last fast lap in qualification and the moment you cross the finish line you all of a sudden find yourself standing on the starting grid with the race countdown started. Fade out/fade in previous versions was so much better for me. Right now it just feels like you're in a DeLorean that just made 88 mph and warped into the future

And we need flames from tyres. :D

Anyway this (and the old one) fading system it's not so fun and realistic.
Imho best way could be to let the driver to go back to pit (maybe with marshalls waving flags in the side of track ) and while driving in this lap give the option to the driver to skip to the standing at the end of session.

I liked the old system but you should be able to control the car...

  7. I liked it when "the fade" started at 0:00, and not half an hour later (like it does on some servers) Waiting for the race to start is sometimes almost as annoying as online practice sessions ;)

  8. Unfortunately controlling the car is still not possible once fading starts, so maybe the transition should be made instantaneous like in pretty much all other sims...

  9. Who cares whether you can control your car or not once the fade starts? Anything that happens after it starts is irrelevant. For the record, I would like "the fade" to return. I don't like the current abrupt change.

The guy in the motion rig who's heading towards another car or a wall or some other stationary object that he can no longer avoid. Already answered in post 2.

I assume the lack of car control during fade out is a MP only thing, as it's never been the case with SP, you can still control the car while it fades out. So, we need teleport for MP, and slow fade for SP.

A related thing I found annoying is the abrupt loss of ffb when session ends in mp. I don't remember how it was previously though, but somehow it feels really exaggarated now. Especially when using higher forces and you're in the middle of a corner when the session ends it can be a bit of a hazard when the steering wheel suddenly loses all resistance.

I'm pretty sure that there's a solution that will work for motion rig owners and still have some kind of visible transition between sessions. Instant pit teleport/session change is bizarre, disorienting and it looks totally unprofessional. Hope that this is a temporary placeholder for the lack of better ideas and it will be replaced with something more polished

The teleporting will be changed into a better system in the future, stated by stefano in the livestream.

yep the new instant teleport to grid and loss of ffb on MP/SP is really annoying.
    This need tweak asap.

  16. For the record its not irrelevant as long as the car can still hit other cars or obstacles and inertial forces are still in place...it could be if no collisions would become effective during fade out like in the pit lane for example...

  17. I didn't realise that you were talking about motion rigs. Not being able to control the car during "the fade" when sat in front of a PC is not a problem (unless any subsequent impacts could affect your MinoRating). Having said that, I agree that full control of your car should be maintained at all times :)
