1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

FFB inconsistency/lag

Discussion in 'ACC Hardware Discussions' started by georgi iovchev, Sep 19, 2021.

  1. For a long time I have been experiencing FFB inconsistency. What I mean by that is - playing with everything the same - car, setup, track, server, conditions, wheel settings, ingame settings ... but FFB feels different. Usually most of the time FFB is as expected, but suddenly next day it feels different (may become weak, may become heavier), but mainly it feels like there is lag in the car reactions (heavily missing apexes on a very very well known to me track).

What I am suspecting is my wheelbase (Fanatec dd2) is misbehaving.

In time I have tried some options in order to resolve this. Below are the most significant changes:
    - updated drivers/firmwares - fanatec, nvidia gpu, amd chipset
    - different usb ports
    - complete uninstall, clean up obsolete usb drivers and install of fanatec drivers - usually this makes ffb to as expected for a few days.
    - removing ACC control.json and redoing my controls setting
    - removing Assetto Corsa Competizione folder from documents
    - verifying the game files integrity from steam

The problem is that sometimes after doing a change the FFB starts to feel as expected, but after a few days it starts to misbehave again. So I cannot be sure at all if something I have done is helping or not. And also I cannot reproduce the issue... it just happens by itself.

I play only ACC and can not tell if FFB inconsistency is happening in other sims.

For most people that would say that what I experience is probably placebo effect - I have more than 1000 hours on same car and track, and I think I know very well when something is wrong :)

I am about to sell my gear and probably move to simucube, but I am not sure if this will solve the issue.
So I would like to know if anybody have similar FFB inconsistencies and what sim gear one uses.

    Thanks in advance

My DD2 is causing problems too. I'm not a very fast or good driver though so a major part of the issue might be between seat and wheel.
The Ginetta suddenly has a big dead zone straight ahead. I added a lot of caster and it became a bit better. The Porsche Cup was more undriveable than usually because the FFB suddenly went inverted. I turned the weel more than the zenter dead zone and the car spun around even on straights. Felt like having a shopping cart setup in the rear.
    Fanalab 1.53 installed.

When checking the firmware I now see that Fanalab no longer communicates with my wheel. It is powered up and my other peripherals are working and visible in windoze.

Managed to save it by installing 4.11 drivers although the wheel was invisible. Suddenly it showed up in Fanalabs again :)

  4. I'm not using Fanalab at all (gave up on it long time ago), so in my case it is excluded from potentially causing my issue.
For you, if want to use it, I think that with newer drivers (above 410), you should use latest fanalab (1.57 or later).

I have the same issues , i think some other games are changing config settings for windows drivers, not sure if is the case , but used to have issues playing other sims then switching to ACC, other than that no idea
