1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Forced factory options in public multiplayer

How do people feel about this?, the recent introduction of the Porsche Cup servers has made me think about it.

Firstly, I am happy that all drivers are on a level playing field, and I think that forcing factory assists is a good idea, in theory, but in practice, it produces a bit of a mess.

In the instance of the Porsche Cup, there is no traction control, which can be a bit of an issue for players using a control pad, so this leads to those servers generally being carnage, I wonder if the Porsche GT3 R, which has factory TC available, would have been a better option?

Anyway forced factory settings online, what say you?

Dont you have build in assist depending on controller on console?

    Nope.

The Cup is the way easier to drive, the R is way edgier at some situations if you really push the car.

But on controller without TC I understand what you mean.
Although controllers will always be a not ideal device to use for AC.

Yup, I get that, but I wouldn't mind better the amount of controller players outweight the amount of wheel users, on console anyway.

I really hope you guys will get private lobbies soon.

My last games before AC were GT5 and PCars, both were better to drive with a pad, especially GT5.
But since GT is made for gamepad use it is quite underwhelming with a wheel as cars were too stable and too easy to drive. If I would apply the same driving inputs (wheel or gamepad) from GT5 in AC I would crash all the time.

I guess it's really hard to build it in a way that both parties can have a good experience with a level competition.

I think Stefano have said that its a build in assist depending on the input device. Even if you uncheck it on PC i think its still there, at least with mice and keyboard.

    Example:

This guy is driving without TC on, but its quite obvious that its still there. You can hear the TC do work when he accelerate and as a on/off switch that the mouse have he would've been in the barrier or at least get some spin with the pagani zonda otherwise.

I wonder if a gamepad doesnt have some kind of build in assist too?

Im not taking credit from the guy, what he is able to do is way above fantastic!

Pretty sure there is none, if you turn TC off on the gamepad, there isn't any, you get no TC sign, and no "blip blip" of the throttle where the TC would be active.

Edit : maybe that only happens if throttle is mapped to a digital axis?

I'm completely agree with forced factory settings online. Very simple: that way every one has the same conditions and you keep realism (I would not like to race with 70's formula 1 with TC).

    edit; typos

i've always found the best online racing is always when everyone is in same car and assists. Factory assists is a great idea.
Also there's other settings that need changing kunos end as well. Track temp needs upping and tyre warmers need turning on as well.
Hopefully when we get the lobbies we will get to choose all the other assist settings as well. Also any car any track.

Also you can't change any settings after qualification has finished, the weather changes for the race, colder, hotter. You can't change tyre pressure or fuel or anything.

Yeah. Im rather door to door with someone that using stability control for example than getting my door knocked in by someone that are to hardcore for his own driving skills.

if you need assist to drive the cup car you have no place online racing wrecking everyone elses game . simple as that.

Not quite the attitude to have, especially when there is no barrier to anyone going online, at least there should be some kind of qualification feature, where by you aren't allowed online without passing certain prerequisites in car handling.

    Bottomline, it's happening anyway.
