Full controller support needed within the menus

It would be great if you added full gamepad support within the menus, pausing and exiting races and so on.. Sometimes I like to use my TV when I'm not at the desk so it's a pain having to have the mouse and keyboard handy to navigate through the menus. I'm sure other gamepad users will agree..

 

It was shown over 2 years ago at E3 IIRC that the game supports accessing the menus with a pad and tablet devices. Whilst it isn't the case now I hope it comes back by release as I use nvidia game stream and it would work brilliantly with that.

 

That sounds good but it isn't for me, I would prefer full gamepad support.

Another minor tweak would be having the ability to look around the car with the right analog stick instead of just the front and side views with the d-pad..

 

+1 for this request. Last time I played it wasn't even possible to use a keyboard to select menu items, only a mouse could be used.

 

To add to my above post after play AC for a bit today, its currently not possible to pause the game with a 360 controller

All you gamepad users that agree and want full gamepad support within the menus etc.. please "like" the first comment, and also rate the thread 5 stars. This will make it more noticeable to the devs, therefore increasing our chances of this being implemented into a future update. Cheers

 

Yeah it,s hard to look back while driving ! The right analog stick seems dead to AC (No input) besides the stick button - any reason for this?

 

That's what I mean. They should change it so your able to look 360 degrees around the car with the right analogue stick. Since they have mapped the d-pad to look back you cannot look back whilst steering with the left analogue stick (unless your an alien with 2 left thumbs)

 

You can affect the look back to any button of your pad ! i assign it to my B button and it s cool i can look back very easily

 

That is an workaround/or an preference The issue is not if I can use the right stick as look behind - the issue is why can`t I assign it as I can to everything else on the game pad?
Besides that it,s common for car games to have look around with the right stick as default!

 

Yes my friend, was just about to post the same thing until i saw yours, i only play on my tv so its pretty inconvenient for me to have to switch between my wireless keyboard and joypad everytime i want to do anything. I think its a fantastic game and im not usually one for driving games yet i could and have happily drove round silverstone countless times just enjoying the sheer pleasure of the driving, it would be such a shame if they never added in full controller support, especially given they've nailed the hard part and its just the menus.

 

First thing I thought of when we got rc 1 (I bet they have added full controller support in the menus :-( . very much needed please

 

Its seems kind of odd that the menus of a game that is best played with a gamepad or steering wheel can only be controlled using a keyboard and mouse, which is probably the worst control method available for a racing game...

Completely agree, i think its one of the major things left in AC.

 

It would be great to use the controller in the menus, but assuming all the menus involved it is not something as easy as it seems.

What it is mandatory is to configure the right analog stick to move around the car.

+1 on the idea of menu support and right thumbstick look for the controllers. My biggest gripe though, is that the start button on the x360 gamepad doesn't open the pause menu in a race. This would eliminate the need for the keyboard when entering or leaving a race (which would be nice).

I agree but would like to expand controller to also include wheels. I get it that there are many things will always be easier with mouse/keyboard like setting up a car. But basic things like loading a default setup and starting a race shouldn't be one of them.
