Get stuck in sand?

I love Assetto, but how about some more realistic features? Especially in career mode as an option.

A few:
-Get stuck in sand?
-Start engine as in Netkar?
-Change tires and fixing car uses session time?
-No jump to track.
-Need to return to pits in practice and qualifying sessions?
-In severe crash end of session?
-Career mode season budget expenditure and income from good results and advertising.

 

The realism of Netkar was what set it apart, although it was just a small step in the right direction. I loved changing worn out tires and refueling the car in the pits, I was hoping for more of that. But in Assetto you just want to go the same way of all the other 'sims' ? Like RF2, the cars spin out waaaayyy too easily because being harder to drive must be more 'realistic' but you can smash your car one hundred times in five minutes and you are instantly teleported back to the pits and your car is instantly repaired for free. The real world you end up in hospital or you walk back to the pits, your session is over and your pit crew swear at you because they have to spend the whole of the next night rebuilding your car. That would be a 'simulation'.

I just don't get it TBH. People say they want a sim, but clearly they and the developers actually don't, or I'm missing the point of what a simulation means which seems to be 'an arcade game with slightly more realistic physics'. If it was a simulation you'd be able to kill your driver by smashing into a wall at 250km/h.

Maybe not right away but...

All i would be looking for is(not interactive cockpit) an option to start a race car in a kind of semi/realistic way, like FSX but obviously not as in depth.
ie. button boxes-yehhhh... master arm, battery, fuel pumps, ignition key switches.

You can tell us santa clause doesn't exist, but we still believe in him.
The only difference between their(childrens) santa and ours is, ours developes great sims and is a gamer at heart.

So pls santa... i promise we'll all be good, and i won't tell daddy i saw you with mummy.

 

I got stuck in sand in vallelunga in the tatuus on right hand side of small chicane before the last corner. My ride height was fairly low though, but was surprised when I got beached. So its possible.

 

I like it except for the advertising how would monies from that be controlled? Success does not always relate to a strong advertising dollar. And it would be extreme but if you are in a fatal accident it should end your career making you have to start a new one. After all if it is a sim lets make it a sim. The immediate goal should not be to finish first but to finish ahead of the car in front of you and finishing in one piece. As I have said I am not a great sim racer but some of my best memories are battling it out in a multi-player game not with a another person by an AI in the middle of the pack. Trading spots lap after lap.

But Luigi I like how you think.

I would also like a way to balance multi-player games with friends to that we could all be competitive. Either with some sort if speed limiters or ballast.

But as someone said... people say they want a sim, only to complain when they get one and making it hard to drive is not the measurement of a sim.
