1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Looks good, but why didn't you pick the worst case scenario as a reference for setting up the GFX? What happens if you run the same test during rain & night?

You said something like "I also tested with rain and the FPS remained pretty much the same."...not very likely.

it runs the same as in the day at night with rain i lose no fps. it's all about my i7 9700k 8 core cpu another person said same as you so i made another quick vid
    see for yourself

now tell me not very likely :)

Ya true, mine aint exactly cutting it, back a few years I had a Mobo go bad and had to warranty the whole build and it was during a shortage of i7's so was forced into the i5 6600 Blah. :(

Yeah thanks and sorry for me being a bit rude.

So seemingly, you're "running on the CPU" with those GFX settings. Did you check usage? GPU must have some headroom left I guess.

The image looks decent with those settings. So you're making a really good point here with this thread.

BTW, I ran The ACC Benchmark with your settings and could "only" get 76 AVG FPS. This is down to my CPU.

    Cheers.

cpu is running all 8 cores at around 75% and up GPU with out vsync is 99% game loves more cores. it's time for me to upgrade GPU though it bottleknecks my cpu by 80% according to bottlekneck calculator

It's strange though how you report "the same" FPS then. But then again - no offense - the method you use isn't really a method. You might want to try The ACC Benchmark and do an A/B comparison. If this shows that your GPU is not being bottlenecked but still does the same FPS in sunny day and rainy night conditions - magic! :-D

i think real game play is the best way to test as i did. the GPU is a huge bottlekneck though. the cpu pushes it to the max in both cases. most people lose fps during rain/night because their cpu is not up to the task not the GPU.

i would have to use something like an RTX 2080 to see FPS dips during rain/night vs day. but then it wouldn't matter as fps would be so high anyway :)

results show it's all about the cpu :)

The ACC Benchmark (click) is real gameplay while recording the FPS statistics. You just randomly read FPS numbers from the screen while driving in completely different ways in your "test". Like I said - it's not a proper testing method.

Here's my benchmark in the standard heavy rain conditions at 21:00:

    2019-03-23 07:55:54 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 4015 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 66.917 - Min: 58 - Max: 78

And here's the results when I change to clear weather at 12:00:

    2019-03-23 07:57:26 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 5581 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 93.017 - Min: 81 - Max: 109

    That's a 39 % FPS difference.

Edit: and except for small dips at the very beginnign (first ~ 5 seconds) the GPU was at 100 %, all the time.
