How to tackle the Nordschleife

dammit, I'm trying to forget about Nordschleife until September and you all keep posting such sumptuous tidbits. Arrrrghhhh.

 

He makes it look real easy

 

I was quite lucky to learn the 1967 version in Grand Prix Legends, the different sections are much more distinct with trees close to the track in some sections, grass banks or hedges in others, memorable jumps etc.

When the circuit was modernised, some corners eased, the jumps levelled out, dangerous obstructions cleared from the side of the track and armco barrier put in everywhere I think it's become much harder to learn.

 

So narrow... Most of the sim versions are way too wide. I still think GPL version got closest to the feel of the place. I do hope we get a 60s version, I'd pay extra for it.

All that paint on the tarmac must play havoc with the grip levels.

reminds me of the GTR2 Version, which was kinda the best modded track.
This track is more easy to remember than small tracks

 

Ive done quite a few laps there in real life and its easier than you think to remember the corners, but its also so easy to lose the concentration needed.

Now I somehow just recognised the irony in loving the ring in games, but went there just one time and that cause someone invited me, still I just need 50 minute to get their.
