1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Little Advice for Console Issues

    Hey first post here,

Just wanted to pass on some information from my experience with the good old consoles.

Started way back in the day with GTR2 and really got back into racing with the release of pcars for the xbone. Have made the switch over to the pc world for AC and pcars; nothing beats VR and plain and simple the overall experience is 50x better on the pc platform. Love both pcars and AC and want to see both succeed.

Anyway to the point, some tips for console guys:

    - Hard reboot your console prior to playing - clears cache, will help with framerates.
    - Always close the game completely before shutdown- at least on the xbox platform games will stay running in the background - this will not work for the hardware intensive sims.
    - Put console in power save mode - when you turn it off it will not sit in 'standby mode' and will shutdown completely clearing cache.
    - Close all apps prior to playing - these games need everything the console has to pack - if you don't need it running, close it.
    - If you have it, install the game on your external HD. Faster USB 3.0 speeds with external hard drives help load time and seemed to help with frame rate.
    - If possible, hardwire your network connection with ethernet.

If anyone else cares to share some tips, please post and I can update.

Yeah, it sucks there has to be a check list to play these sims on the console but in the end your overall racing experience will benefit.

One more tip, may be the most important one, stay patient.

Yeah there are going to be hiccups along the way but both dev's have a track record of supporting there game. It will get better as time goes on. May be new concept to a few console guys but these games take patience from both the dev and player, they are always evolving. It is worth it in the end.

    Happy Racing.

It's not a new concept for the console people, is just the games are released under the XBox's game preview banner.
When you buy a retail game you expect it to work without having to change the way you have your console set up.
It's been 3 years: developers know there's background apps, that the console can be in standby mode, etc.
Don't get me wrong, pCars had the same issue where you had to do "a whole dance" with the Xbox to have the game working acceptably. It did improve with time however and hopefully this will too.
That being said, a developer can't expect thousands of users to figure that out by themselves (how many come to the forums, very few) or willing to do all this extra work every time they want to play a single game.

Thank you for this tips, and yes, let's hope for future improvements.

Btw, we need more PC gamers like you, not like those who only blame on consoles gamers (I know, some posts are... Well...) thank you.
