"looping" with open tracks

Hi,

after trying the Pacific Road, I just thought it may be a good idea (or not, you tell me) to have a mean to go the other way, but this is unfortunately not possible yet.

Adding either an hairpin (kind of the Carousel from the Nordshleife) or a big enough flat area like a parking lot with barriers (like in Highland track town) would allow it.

It would also allow the "go forth & back" style challenge which could be fun (as it needs to be careful when crossing path of the opponent(s), also an easy turn one way can become harder he other way, so the slowest driver first may be faster in the second part.)

With one single track you may have :
- Rallye type, as before,
- go then return to the starting point,
- do the loop n times (with shorter tracks = less than 5 kms for a quick, maybe fun, challenge) without any restriction, allowing crazy drivers (I mean AC-over-addicted people ) to do 15 times a 20 kms track in one go, with pit-stop for fuel and eventually tyres.

What do you guys think ?

 

Depends on the track and what was done there.
e.g. with the Tajo hillclimb, you can do that.

That's one of the problems. You should only do that if all people taking part are aware that they need to face traffic coming the other way.
If you're driving alone, then of course it's not an issue.

From AC's side, I don't know if it is possible to force (well, "soft" force actually) the player to stick to one side of the road (usually the lane on the right, but could be different if you're making roads in Japan, Australia or the UK).
Track modellers should be able to tell us.
