1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Need advice about Dedicated Server

Discussion in 'Chit Chat Room' started by Michael Hornbuckle, May 10, 2014.

  1. I've spent a few hours trying to forward ports and such to make my own lobby with no success. What kind of server do I need to rent to host a lobby? I need one in the US but I have no idea what to google. Hopefully some of y'all can help me out and once I find what I'm looking for I'll have to see if I can afford it.
    Thanks to anybody that can help out.

    Not sure of server renting places in the US but there are cheapo ones that are good to be found. If you got a bunch of people that would race on a regular basis you could all chip in every month which would make it suuuuuper cheap.

    Just a positive comment. :) Im sure tons of people know of good places in the states to rent a server. I dont think AC require massive beast server either so it will be pretty cheap. Good initiative though.

    I would recommend a VPS/Dedicated server. I have used NFOServers before and even though they are slightly more expensive than some others, their support is top notch (24/7 responses within 5 minutes without fail)
    Here is a link to view their range of VPS's http://www.nfoservers.com/order-virtual-dedicated-server.php
    For 1 server, the dual core should be enough! Good luck with your hosting :p

  5. There are four of us that would be sharing the expense.

    Thanks for the link, @Doggy
    My brain just exploded a little trying to make sense of the info on that page.

    Maybe I really am too old for this.....dammit

    This company has dedicated servers in 4 locations and Dallas Texas is one! :) I rent a TS3 server from them and is quite reasonable compared to running a TS from home 24/7.
    Their dedicated server : 3.4 Ghz Quadcore - 32GB RAM - 120GB SSD - 15TB Bandwidth - $189.00 / month

    All standard dedicated servers include 100Mbps connections and 10 IP aliases.

  8. Yeah, that is way too pricey for us....After being destroyed in the first turn in 5 out of 5 races today I am so close to selling my gear and saying screw this hobby.

    Keep the faith until you can get a group of friends to race together or get in some league racing. My experience over the years with open servers are all the same as you just experienced. I ran a passworded server last night with 6 friends and it was a blast. We were all on my TS which always adds to the race experience.

    just checked race2play and they have AC servers ready to host events and leagues, i was pricing rf2 servers and the cheapest way was via r2p.
    this place is as close to organised sensible racing without being iracing yer gonna find plus sims like gtr2 and even nk still live on with decent sized races

    Hi, you mentioned you could not get your sever to work,i just wanted to make sure you had these 2 lines in your server-cfg.ini file or your server will not show up
    sleep_time=1
    register_to_lobby=1

    The acserverlauncher did not create these lines for me and took me awhile to realise this was the issue

    Regards

    I'm willing to run a dedicated server from Texas but what is the min system requirements for acServer?

    Or maybe a better way to ask.. How much CPU usage with 20-30 cars?

    try changing the ports, both on the acserver and the redirected on the router, could be that the default ones are already used.
