Nurburgring gamma issue

Is anyone else having a issue with the brightness off the sky and lack of light on the track?
It is horrible for me during online track day at the Nurburgring.

The asphalt is so dark that I have to turn the gamma correction on my projector to the max.

Works fine in project cars and Forza 6.

It is most noticeable when selecting normal Trackday at The Nurburgring.

The super and elite Trackday is better somehow.

 

I have this problem on most tracks, I have to change to cabin view with the hands to be able to play.

I've had issues with it too. Sometimes it gets brighter at random sections of the track. In general I find cloudy or even partly cloudy tracks to be too dark to clearly see the road properly.

I believe I switched my video to default? (I'd have to double check) and it improved it from the sport setting. It would be nice to have a brightness setting in the video options.

 

There has to be a general problem with lighting.

 

the problem is simply autoexposure settings in the ppfilters.

3 values in an .ini file they need to fine tune:

MIN=0.31; min auto exposure
MAX=0.395; max auto exposure
TARGET=0.175 ; target average brigthness that auto exp is trying to achieve (0 -> 1)

edit: could also be car specific dash cam exposure settings

 

This is in the Xbox one forum, this looks like something you would do on a computer.

 

correct, but the devs need to change those 3 values to fix the issue, rather than the lighting or anything specific to the track. in the meantime at least one of the included filters should be playable (you would hope)

 

I hope this is fixed in the next patch, the included filters does not rectify or help with the problem.

 

This is the biggest problem within the game for me, unplayable in some conditions.

 

Thinking about it, is it all cars or just some? each camera for each car has a custom exposure multiplier value so it could be an issue with one of those too

Maybe a quick fix would be to turn off clouds on the online servers?

 

From my experience it doesn't matter what car. If it's cloudy the track is barely visible.

Also this may have been a one off thing, but one time driving on the tourist green monster my screen went almost pitch black while I was driving. I paused the game to record how dark it was and when I unpaused it the game lit back up to an acceptable level of brightness.

 

Great it seems like someone is resetting the servers and are removing the clouds.
