1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Racing in an ACC public server for the first time-a tale of promise.

It was last Saturday. I went to my Abbot and told him of my desire to set off in search of the Promised Land, others make such journeys aboard beasts of burden or camels, mine was to be my beloved Bentley, to seek an on line server where I could find respect and good clean racing. I told him that I had been studying hard and had built up a fund of, what I shall call "salvation awaits" tokens or "SArs, I had gathered over 80 through self study and racing amongst friends within the excellent RedLineMotorsport community. But it was now time for me to journey into the unknown on my quest. The Abbot wished me well and said he hoped I would find this mythical place.
After a little searching I found my fist resting place. The Gate Keeper wanted me to stake 40 of my SArs. I nervously offered them up and he let me in.
I had arrived during free practice. I did some laps and felt happy. We then moved on to qualifying. I did quite well and placed my self toward the front of the crowd. It was what happened next that confirmed to me that my journey may not be a short one. The race was to begin with a rolling start over a full lap. We set off with my poor trusty steed screaming to be let off the leach, no matter which gear I selected I could not calm it down, others it seems are wiser than myself for they seemed to be to pull away from me, I must learn their magic if I am to succeed in my quest. It also turned out that the reason I did so well (for me) in the qualifying was that others did not bother to set a time as they just came to the front during the rolling lap. Indeed one pilgrim riding a beast of bright yellow/line green that is known by a number even managed to loose control and spin into others causing us to scatter where we could.
The race began and as we headed for the first turn I felt I was being surrounded by thieves all looking to steal my SArs, I held firm and made it through in one piece. Others were not so lucky. This gave me a gap behind me to gather my thoughts and to chase down my foes. The race continued for me without incident, I even had a couple of good duels with like minded pilgrims, we were close but respected each other. They obviously treasured their SArs as much as I do. At the end of the race I flashed the car I had been trying to close down and weaved from side to side to show my appreciation of a good fight. They responded by weaving back.
It was time to move on in my search.
I came across another bastion for which the Gatekeeper wanted me to stake 70 of my SArs. I agreed and he let me in.
Again I had arrived during free practice, I did my laps and moved on to qualifying. This time I was not so lucky and found myself toward the back of the group, obviously a more experienced group who had invested their time wisely to earn their SArs. This race started with a rolling start at the last corner. This was a much more ordered experience than my last start. I gained some places and although there seemed to be thieves around me, they did not seem so blood thirsty. The race continued, I lost a place then got it back. It was towards the end of the race that I had an experience that leads me to believe the quest IS possible. I had a bright red beast pass me brandishing a badge with a black prancing horse. He did not pull away however and we continued to circulate almost bumper to bumper. At times he went a little wide and I tried to seize my chance only for me to be not quite close enough to get through and backed off.
It was now the last lap and I had been informed that the leader had started their last lap. It's now or never. I try to make my move. But no. My trusted, beloved chariot made some strange noises. The other car pulled away. My car spluttered to a stop as I pulled off the track. It seems that, as the old English proverb goes, " You may lead a horse to water, but a Bently must be filled with enough fuel to get to the end of the race."
So here my quest must rest. Has it ended? No. Do I believe it is achievable? Just maybe....
    Salute.
