Semi slicks for the cobra

We are just about to start a comp with the RUF, F40 and Cobra 427 and I have just realised that semi slicks dont seem to be an option for the Cobra.

Is there a reason for this? Any way to make semi slicks an option for the Cobra?

 

Do they even make semi-slicks with a four inch sidewall?

 

If they don't they should.

Interesting, I didnt even realise there was such a huge difference in rim sizes.

 

I feel semi slicks should be an option for all the street cars. Since it is realistic that you would install them on your car when you go for a track day.

 

Not entirely sure what this is shod with given the little blur, but they look fun anyway

 

There are historical and rim dependent reasons.

Theoretically possible, but its more a thing for NFS or similar to put 20inch rims and flat tread semislicks on an old shelby cobra I think *shuddering*

 

Maybe limit other cars to use only street tires
Competition Cobra has racing tires (vintage), but it's to fast

 

And/or add ballast.

 

With ballast you can make them equal for 1 or 2 laps, but when the street tires will start to melt, then lap time will decrease drastically
Better make them all struggle (with street tires)

 

Shuddering because of how it would look, and quaking in fear of how quickly that car would kill you.

 

Are there any 70s slicks defined already? those would definitely fit & came in outrageously huge sizes.

 

Ferrari 312T ? Not sure about sizes, or whether Cobras ever ran pure slicks.

 

Can't find any 70s racing shots good enough to tell, at the moment - there's a couple up on racingsportscars that definitely look like slicks, but they could equally be chewed up 60s treads. However I *did* find...

Regular, S/C and the S1 are to slow compared to RUF/F40, only the competition cobra can keep up, but you better limit them all to street tires.

 

With the size of those sidewalls there's no way you're going to stick like an aero car

 

Nothing wrong with that. But some options are good. And the S1 is a modern car, so I think we can be more lenient.

 

Yeah, the S1 even has a five speed...might as well put slicks on it along with NOS and an underbody neon kit.

 

Pretty sure this guy has a neon light kit.
